NSD planned for today and tomorrow. Does £5 payment for counselling appointment count as a spend? It's a weekly appointment, obviously, but that's my "fee" for the counselling.
chocolate I used to wander out to the kitchen in the evening after the dcs were in bed to take out the frozen meat for the next day, but lots of times I simply forgot. So this month I am taking it out when I'm preparing breakfast in the morning, as I'm already bustling about the kitchen anyway. I'm hoping I can make it enough of a habit to keep it going. I've also got it written on my menu plan right under the meal for the day to take out xxxx for the next day as I always check my menu plan in the morning.
This month I am aiming for £200 for groceries, but I've just looked at the calendar and realised we have 5 Fridays in October. Unfortunately, my goal of £50 per week doesn't gel with that, as that would make it £250, wouldn't it? So I am amending my grocery goal to £250. Must be realistic, obviously. November has 4 Fridays, so that will be £200. I'm going to set a mini goal to cut £5 per week off if possible - so basically this month ideally, I'd like to see it under £225, however, as long as it's under £250 I'll be happy. Yes, that was long winded. Sorry.
But I want to push myself to be more frugal in my choices while still allowing myself enough of a budget to try new things, stockpile a bit for winter, and have a few treats here and there for the dcs and myself.
Speaking of the teeny veins issue, usually it's quite easy for them to find them, however, when I was in hospital about 6 years ago (for 2 weeks), the nurse tried 7 times to find the vein to start a new IV, even with me pointing out to her the best options. I finally told her to stop, as she wanted to keep trying. It wasn't life or death thankfully, and I told her as the next shift was coming on in less than an hour, I'd prefer she give someone else a shot at it, as I felt she was struggling and quite frankly I was tired of it. Next nurse came on duty, got it in one try.
