Hi was out today with Ds for a walk and it seems my purse has been took out of my bag I have no idea where abouts or even how this is happened I didn't notice anything or feel for that matter .
I was due to go shopping with that money as it's my last for a week
Is there any where I can get some help I've reported it to the police who said food bank but I've googled and it's not open until Tuesday now
The police can't do anything about my purse and I've just spent the past hour cancelling my bank card there was £150 in notes and change
Also .ive asked family to lend me but for there own reasons they can not .i get my wAges on Friday but it seems so far away help please is there any where that can help I have bad credit so the bank won't help me out

Oh and yes if you are local I can bring you some non perishables if it would help out. :)

FlossyMoo · 09/08/2014 21:07

Placid you are very rude.

Sorry OP this is not directed at you at all but how many times have scammers come on here pleading poverty?? Loads.

So Troll AS and saw it was OP's first post, I did the same thing.
If Troll had said 'welcome to mumsnet' and left it at that then fair enough it would have been a snidey remark however Troll went on to give a really good and helpful suggestion.

Leave Troll alone and rattle your drum somewhere else.

Again my apologise OP that was in no way directed at you or your situation. Smile

TeaAndALemonTart · 09/08/2014 21:09

Placid, do stop being so rude to Trollsworth who was just being pleasant and welcoming a new poster Hmm.

mumof1boy07 · 09/08/2014 21:11

I thought it was me then I was googling and came across mumsnet so thought some would no the food bank situation over the weekend
No need to apologise I get where your coming from

OP posts:
FlossyMoo · 09/08/2014 21:16

No not you mum Smile

Sadly there has been many occasions where lovely mnetters have sent money or ordered food to be delivered to poster who have said they have no money for food etc. and they turned out to be less than truthful. It leaves posters very sceptical now which is a shame as there are many many people in genuine need and lots of nice posters want to help.

It is worse at Christmas time, at least 1 thread per day Sad

mumof1boy07 · 09/08/2014 21:21

Really that's disgraceful .i can't believe people would lie about stuff ridiculous .yes no wonder people are sceptical I would be to

OP posts:
gertiegusset · 09/08/2014 21:28

Food banks won't just give you stuff, you have to be referred to them by a social worker or a Doctor and have to be in receipt of benefits.

Trollsworth · 09/08/2014 21:29

You know what, I've been on this website ten years ... I namechanged after the heart bleed fiasco and I've had SO MANY people just be downright fucking rude since then.I'm still me. I still post the way I always did. The thing that has changed is my name.

Trollsworth does imply, as many seem to think, that I am trolling. It is a play with the name 'Molesworth', a funny series of books about a naughty public school boy, and his name was molesworth.

Sorry for the hijack, just getting a bit pissed off with it.

Mumof1boy07, it is honestly worth going through some of your child's tighter clothes, smaller trainers, spare coat etc, and your own high heels and bits of holiday wear, and just flogging it off. It will at least give you change for milk and bread.

LiberalLibertines · 09/08/2014 21:33

Have you heard back from your cousin op?

It doesn't surprise me to read your have to be referred/in receipt of benefits to go to a food bank.

It will be a squeeze to get through till Friday won't it?

mumof1boy07 · 09/08/2014 21:33

I'm not on benefits didn't realise you had to be on benefits though to go to one .
Hi trolls worth I'm going to have a sort through tommorow see what I've got I've just give a lot to the charity bags but I'll have more stuff I can get rid of I think

OP posts:
TeaAndALemonTart · 09/08/2014 21:35

Trollsworth, ignore them. You made a very valid comment and certainly wasn't the only one who AS d the OP and then wanted to extend a warm welcome.

mumof1boy07 · 09/08/2014 21:35

Not yet but think she's working until 10 tonight so will be after that when she replies .i will let you guys on my post no what she says
I'm actually shocked you have to be on benefits to get help

OP posts:
Bustarhymes · 09/08/2014 21:45

No you don't need to be on benefits to use a food bank - you really don't. The rule is that there has to be 'a need'. You have a need. Most people who use them are working but badly paid.

Google your local Sally Army and get them to either give you some food or refer you to the local food bank with a voucher. They should give you 35 quids' worth of food to tide you over.

mumof1boy07 · 09/08/2014 21:50

Ok Thankyou for the information if my cousin can't help I'll contact them

Hi there,

Sorry to barge in. We have no reason at all to suspect that the OP isn't genuine, but as our regulars will know, we're obliged to post up the following statement on threads that have been brought to our attention:

We do advise all our members to be aware that not everyone on the internet is who they say they are, and that, although we're awed daily by the astonishing support our members give each other through life's trickier twists and turns, we'd always caution anyone never to give more of themselves to another poster, emotionally or financially, than they can afford to spare.

mumof1boy07 we're glad you're receiving some useful advice on this thread, and hope you're able to get things sorted soon. Flowers

mumof1boy07 · 09/08/2014 23:04

Hi Thankyou for the link to trussell trust my cousin has text to say she can't lend me ten but has a spare fiver so that will do to get us through until then Thankyou for all the advice etc

OP posts:
LiberalLibertines · 10/08/2014 08:14

Oh that's something, good luck love.

MiscellaneousAssortment · 10/08/2014 17:34

Good luck

Missunreasonable · 10/08/2014 17:41

If milk and more operate in your area you can open an account and order £15 worth of food and pay for it at the end of the month.

aylesburyduck · 10/08/2014 21:27

I am fairly sure that the food bank local to me gived out food parcels to anyone who is stuck.

OP presumably you have a crime no from the police so that should be sufficient to demonstrate need?

Another place may be your local Sure Start children's centre, when I worked in a CC we would always be able to supply something to mums who were stuck.

Hope you get things sorted Thanks

mumof1boy07 · 11/08/2014 11:22

Hope you get it sorted mum Did you manage to find any change in the house?

PurplePidjin · 11/08/2014 12:26

A children's centre family worker should be able to refer you to a foodbank and they'll be open today. They may even have stuff you can have on the spot

mumof1boy07 · 11/08/2014 12:46

Thanks no I thought I would aswell .
Have sorted some bits to sell but no interest yet
Will have a google now find the number for one now I didn't no they could x
