Hi All,
I couldn't see a new thread yet, so thought I'd start one for July. The jacket potato is a marker for starting summer off on a frugal note. :).

NSD so far.

£5 on petrol. I had to do a 20 mile round trip to correct a bank error. Fun.

Welcome supermum.

AdoraBell · 11/07/2014 19:29

Always room for another frugaler Supermum welcome aboard.

£2 on a coffee for my essential Me time before school hols starts, which happened an hour ago.

Fluffy DH has a problem with a bank in UK, they just need him to pop into a branchHmm

Passthecake30 · 11/07/2014 20:03

£60 on home dresser (highlights, all over tint, cut and blow dry for me, trim for dd), £35 in tescos to last until asda delivery on tues, £5.50 on ds dance lesson. ..oh and £5 on new polo shirts for ds as I decided he couldn't wear his yellowed sun cream ones if dd is going in wearing brand new ones (shes starting reception)....

Frugal things, 25p checkout smart (big deal lol) and I'll be returning my long tall sally order back...

SpottyTeacakes · 11/07/2014 20:49

Nsd

DownstairsMixUp · 11/07/2014 21:15

Didn't get to stick to a two day NSD. Spent £5 on DS xmas present (I try spread it over the year from July so it isn't a shock come Christmas) also got him a toy tool bench for his birthday that folds down into a tool box on sale for £20, some under storage bags for his bits in his room (4 for a tenner) and some nighties for my Nan at Christmas on sale so I ended up spending 45 pounds today but at least it's some presents out the way. (Hosting christmas this year so can imagine my food and alcohol bill will be a fortune)

NK5BM3 · 11/07/2014 21:15

£4 on music class for dd. otherwise NSD! Happy weekend everyone. It's my birthday tomorrow!

AuditAngel · 11/07/2014 21:26

Happy birthday for tomorrow NK5

£12.50 in M&S for a few bits for DD2 to try to encourage her to eat and some bread, sausages, asparagus, raspberries, grapes, bacon.

Need to do a shop, but putting it off! I didn't shop last weekend either as we were away.

Six it is expensive. The dancing school do their big show every other year. They also do a big cabaret at the Dorchester each year for charity. Many of the costumes will be used for both. For Evita, DS just needs his normal dancing shoes and black socks, plus dancing uniform to arrive/leave the theatre. Joseph the kids need jeans (DS has) white socks (bought in M&S) and white pumps. The good news is one of the other mums thinks she has shoes and jeans for DD, which would mean just pumps for DS.

CremeEggThief · 11/07/2014 21:34

Happy Birthday for tomorrow, NK Cake.

£10.96 in Tesco on a few bits, £18 for subs for DS' s Scouts and a cheque for £125 for the Scout Camp (gulp!).

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend :).

I know it is, but I'm really not finding lidl any cheaper right now. Add that to the fact that it takes me forty minutes to get there plus another ten onto tesco for the bits I can't get I feel like it's not worth it.

£45 lidl
£19 tesco
£1.99 in halfords for a fuse that doesn't make a difference to the central locking.

DownstairsMixUp · 12/07/2014 14:36

£48 on food shopping today (though did have 20% off) so not too bad. Won't be spending anymore today.

AuditAngel · 12/07/2014 16:02

£145 in Tesco's on big shop. Included lots of tempting lunch box stuff. Poor DS has to gave packed lunch and tea on Monday so wanted him to have a selection. Also needs packed tea on Wednesday and Friday.

CeeloWeevil · 12/07/2014 19:14

hurrah! Thanks to Fluffy I managed to unhide the thread! I was silkknickers and am now a wise monkey. Good to catch up with everyone's news.

Frugal win this morning - bought a load of second hand uniform for DS1 who moves up to secondary in Sept. £16.50 for various bits and pieces Smile

CremeEggThief · 12/07/2014 19:42

So, how does this thread work? Do you just put down what you have spent each day? Do you put down any savings you have made? I ordered my 2 weekly shop today to come next Tuesday. My budget for that is £150 but I spent £119.
I am thinking of using the savings for teacher's presents. DS10 has 2 teachers (both part time) and a TA, DD6 has the one teacher and 2 TA's (in different days). Oh, what can I get for all of them for £30? One of the part timers (male) is head teacher from September and the other part timer (female) goes on maternity leave in October.

Supermum222 · 12/07/2014 20:10

Ceelo,
Well done on the frugal school uniform buy. My DS has one more year at primary and then secondary school! Yikes. I have been told they need loads of stuff. I am dreading the bill.
The only think I can pass on to my youngest is school logo t-shirts and PE kit. My eldest is a boy and my youngest a girl. Makes it a bit difficult and have to buy mainly new stuff for her each year too.

Fluffycloudland77 · 12/07/2014 21:25

£30 meal out
£15 national trust entry. Took a picnic.

The thread works by reducing outgoings and trying to spend as little as possible to reduce debt or curb frittering.

Next year I'm joining the scottish national trust, they do a monthly dd and you can use it in the uk. We didn't this year because of the house, it's the first day out we've had.

Fluffycloudland77 · 12/07/2014 21:58

£6.50 on a dual retractable washing line, got £5 off using my tesco orchard voucher.

These threads are good for newbies, lots of really good information on them.

AdoraBell · 12/07/2014 22:08

NSD for me. DH has bought dog food, garden bits and two for 1 boots for DD1.

He's feeling down so wanted to look at pretty cars he can't afford. DD1 now wants an Aston Martín for her 18thHmm. Good thing Dreams are freeGrin

AdoraBell · 12/07/2014 23:58
