Spotty'what kind of company does your DH work for? Do they have a staff handbook?

SpottyTeacakes · 21/05/2014 07:21

Hahahaha. No, he's a builder, small company just four-ish employees.

Also I haven't got any change for the carpark at the hospital. Not sure what to do about that Angry

Fluffycloudland77 · 21/05/2014 07:28

On street parking? Most of the first mile of road parking is usually double yellow line by hospitals but its a nice day for a walk if you can manage it.

I bet your Dp's boss is paid on time.

SpottyTeacakes · 21/05/2014 07:36

I can't think of anywhere I can park. The hospital is forty minutes away anyway and I won't have time to walk. Wish they took cards!

Helenagrace · 21/05/2014 07:38

Two NSDs here. Got a good deal out of Virgin for the new house.

Going to try to see if I use a different email address if I can get a new customer £15 off your "first" online shop with Sainsburys. Failing that I'll look fir some other offers.

CoolCadbury · 21/05/2014 07:50

It's really annoying about your DP not being paid spotty. And is the car park a pay & display or pay as you leave? If the latter, maybe buy something cheap like sweets and use the change for the car park. Hospitals also have cash machines, don't they?

DS is six, spotty and very quirky with it. Smile

SpottyTeacakes · 21/05/2014 08:01

It's pay and display, it's a small one round the back away from the main hospital.

Sounds like you will both have a great time!

lilacclery · 21/05/2014 08:15

NK5BM3 if they can be used online I'd love one as found a 4 piece tux for ds who'll be 9 months at my brother's wedding in August for €52 will be buying it anyhow but if I can get a discount all the better!!

coolcadbury that's brilliant about ynab making sure you'd money for plumber. I've been using the free trial and also working things out on excel too. Couldn't understand why I didn't have the money I should have to allocate to various upcoming bills so had to just abandon & work with bank balance. Lightbulb moment at the weekend, dh hasn't given me his share of the bills since I returned to work on April 28th! He'll be handing over his entire paycheck this week I'd say!

spotty can you raid ds's piggybank for change?

helenagrace I'm often tempted to do that with Tesco online shopping too, let us know how you get on.

SpottyTeacakes · 21/05/2014 08:20

They don't have a piggy bank!

Meglet · 21/05/2014 09:28

Right, I've made some headway on this. I've dug out the cashpoint card for my second bank account so I can transfer money over for day to day food, clothes, bits & bobs and keep my main bank account for all the direct debits and bills. If can ring fence the daily money it might help.

NK5BM3 · 21/05/2014 10:52

Hello ladies..! here's the code. MAY14A26

it says it's for clothing, lingerie and beauty. Includes footwear, accessories and stationery. Excludes, schoolwear, meade to measure shirts, made to measure suits, best of british, sale and clearance, homeware, furniture, tailoring alterations, school uniform, gift vouchers, food, flowers, alcohol.

can use as many times as you want, online code is valid multiple times at marksandspencer.com ...

so everyone, use away! :) good luck.

NK5BM3 · 21/05/2014 10:53

oh it's valid 22-26 May.

Fluffycloudland77 · 21/05/2014 14:18

£23 work supplies
£10 petrol
£4.50 socks for dh but I returned something that cost £4.50 so I'm no worse off.
£2 stuff to make falafel later. I'm doing home made pitta bread dough in the bread maker.

£3.89 refund from hobby craft & tcb are doing a snap'n'save on petrol so £2 in my tcb account now.

FantaSea · 21/05/2014 14:45

lilac I registered with a new email address to do a 'first' online shop with Tesco and got £15 off and it worked fine.

Spotty that is bad that your DH hasn't been paid. Hope your hospital appointment went well today.

cadbury hope you and DS have a great time Smile

DD had her second A level exam today and is reasonably happy with how it went. I am a bag of nerves though! I had another lovely browse in the big Tesco while I waited for her - managed to only spend £3 so not too bad.

lilacclery · 21/05/2014 16:03

NK5BM3 thanks for that, not valid on Irish site but turns out it's cheaper for me to buy it from uk site anyhow, hope they have his size in stock before code runs out, it's out of stock atm!

fluffycloudland77 let us know how pitta bread dough goes, have breadmaker(hubby's idea-rarely used!) and love pitta.

fantasea will do that with next online shop.

Charlieboo30 · 21/05/2014 18:14

£13 on bits at morrisons. Done shopping online with sainsburys this week so saved £15 off first shop.

Fluffycloudland77 · 21/05/2014 18:26

Pitta bread recipe

You need to roll them out thinner than you'd expect. I think using smart price flour the recipe cost 20p ish for 8. I just used veg oil from poundland.

CremeEggThief · 21/05/2014 19:18

NSD.
Hope the appointment went o.k., Spotty.

SpottyTeacakes · 21/05/2014 19:21

Thanks appt was fine thanks borrrring but my consultant wanted to keep ds as his mascot as he's so damn cute Grin

£28 spent today on parking, in tesco on top up food and lunch plus some t-shirts and socks for ds which he needed. Oh and birthday cards and wrapping paper for my sister.

AuditAngel · 21/05/2014 21:00

£20 to top up my Oyster card, but can reclaim what I used for the work journey.

Went into Aldi on the way home, spent £50, but got loads of tinned fish for DH's lunches/late suppers, some crackers, salamis, face wipes for 9yo DS who is starting to get a bit pimply, asparagus for my dinner tonight, some crystallised ginger and marzipan for my mum who isn't eating very well (got loads of brownie points for a £3.29 spend on mum) plus a couple of hooded towels for kids forthcoming birthdays. Will need something else to go with them though.

lilacclery · 22/05/2014 03:09

Spendy hour after work - €50 diesel €5.99 personal pizza €51 Lidl - on a top up shop - dog food, salmon fillets, toilet paper, potatoes, ham sliced & for cooking, spread, kiwis, yogurts & some bread from what I can remember. Not a Lidl fan but was going there for toilet roll anyhow.

Fluffy I only eat brown but I'd imagine recipe would work equally well with wholemeal flour or half & half must try them they look good!

AdoraBell · 22/05/2014 03:37

£65 in supermarket, £3 on new rubber bit for stove top coffee pot, £3 on roads, £3.50-ish parking.

Will catch up tomorrow, too late tonight.

SpottyTeacakes · 22/05/2014 06:19

I have to sort out my travel insurance soon. Hopefully I can use one through topcashback. We're going away twice this year Blush so might be cheaper to get a years policy?

NK5BM3 · 22/05/2014 06:53

Nsd on Tuesday as friend treated for lunch. Wednesday I paid £30 for the Greenwich observatory and planetarium trip, and then another £26 for half term tennis. Today should be NSD.

Helenagrace · 22/05/2014 07:16

Bought lunch yesterday as Ofsted rang and announced they're coming into the school I'm chair of governors at today. Had to go into school unexpectedly.

They want to meet me at 9 on Friday morning. I'm supposed to get the keys to the new house at 9.30.

DH will have to get takeaway tonight and I'll have extra childcare to pay as I'm back in school tonight and they'll be in childcare until 6:30. And Mr Gove thinks all I do is drink sherry and eat cake...
