'Pocket money' challenge

I am on maternity leave with DS3 (8 weeks old) & am not yet receiving maternity pay as I am not eligible for SMP so am waiting for my claim for MA to be processed. As such, we are pretty broke atm, so I am looking for any & all ways to save/make cash.

I have decided to set myself a challenge - to make or earn at least £30 per week by any (fair) means - online surveys, selling stuff, cashback etc.

If anyone would like to join me, please do, it could be a fun & motivational thing Smile

So far, this week, I have:

  • made £20 profit from maternity clothes listed on Ebay
  • had cashback of £16 confirmed for the pram we bought for DS3 when he was born
  • cashed in £10 for surveys done with mumsurvey
  • am waiting approval for DVDs sent to Music Magpie (around £6)
  • have hopefully gained 800-1000 free Nectar points for signing up to various train websites & linking with my Nectar account

Pretty pleased so far Grin

Didn't manage anything yesterday, but have got today off to a good start

  • 100 free Nectar points for doing a game on their website
  • 1000 free Nectar points for signing up to train websites with a different email address Grin

I know they're not money, strictly speaking, but I'm saving up for a Merlin annual pass (we're going to buy them in the summer & need 4, so hopefully we'll be able to get one free. This costs 16,000 points, after today's efforts I'll have 9,300 so I'm getting there Smile)

The recycling factory will pay for some types of used ink cartridges. I got 23 pounds last month for sending some in (only have enough to earn this much once a year but every little helps).

Sorry things are tough - have u checked if u have any nectar card points ?
The other option is looking at ur broad band and gass and electric providers? Could u advertise to do dog walking x

bald that's a good tip, thanks Smile

Blossum I have around £41 in Nectar points, plus another £11 worth to come, but I'm saving those for a Merlin Annual Pass. We are going to get those in the summer & they will soon pay for themselves in days out, as we probably won't have a holiday this year.

We have just changed gas providers & are tied into our broadband as we only moved here 6 months ago.

Dog walking not an option as nearly always have 3-year old with me & he walks far too slowly for any dog! Thanks for all your suggestions though Smile

Am going to try & do lots of online surveys tonight & get a few quid that way.
