False economy..?

Interested to know what cheap stuff you think is just, well... cheap, as opposed to good value. For instance, while I quite like some own-brand batteries, I skip the really, really cheap ones, which last about 3 minutes before they have to be replaced Hmm. And with bargain basement bog rolls, it seems to take half a roll just for a pee... Surely that's not good value?

On the "Goodhousekeeping" thread about getting washing whiter most of the people posting said cheap powder was fine - but it had to be powder. The 39p tins of chopped tomatoes in Aldi are as good as Tesco Finest. My family slosh any washing up liquid about like water so I always buy the cheapest. Cheap dog food will only get you a squittery dog - in my experience.

Cheap shoes for kids are a false economy.

I buy Clarks and they last about 14 months!SmileSmile
