Any good buys at Lidl?

Hi,

I have read through the Aldi thread with great interest and made a note of 'good buys'. We have Aldi and Lidl next door to each other where I live so it's is easy to go to both at the same time. I haven't really ventured into Lidl though.
Am I missing any good buys in Lidl?

Hi,

Thanks for all of the replies. I actually went to Lidl on Wednesday and did a week's worth of shopping.
I bought a box of those Magnum type lollies...lovely. Also, the 55p soap is nice, washing up liquid and the bakery mmmmm. Washing liquid seems really good. I usually buy the Almat washing liquid from Aldi (28 washes. The one from Lidl does 40 washes. Not had any problems yet with the things I bought. Will probably go again next week :-)

Oh, the cartons of apple juice have gone down well with DS9. Also, someone suggested the 24 pack of crisps. Again, really good.

We regularly buy their Moroccan couscous, which is divine, their pork medallions, which equally divine, and their herby chicken won gold in some award thing.

They do frozen bread rolls that are really handy to have in the house for when dd wants French bread, but we don't all want to eat it. I love their eggs and their chunky frozen chips are gorgeous.

The dog loves their salami sticks and I like their Floray kitchen rolls but will still buy Plenty if they have it reduced. I also like their Pretzels. Their bottled sparkly water is half the price of Co-ops (for little bottles) and cucumbers are currently 49p each in our Lidl.

I like Lidl. A lot.

It was the cartons of apple juice that I was overcharged for. Not that I'm bearing a grudge!

Peanut flipz are £1.99 for a huge bag. Blinkin lovely but addictive.

Their chicken is really nice compared to Tesco.

The bakery pretzels are delicious and their party food bits are okay. Crusti Croc makes me laugh and cringe all at once.

Crusti croc has to be one of the worst brand names ever.

We like Peanut flips too Smile

Their luxury muesli is very very good - better than Dorset Cereals and a hell of a lot cheaper. Sundried tomatoes in a jar very good and cheap too.

I tried to post this before but I don't know what went wrong. Has anyone tried their tights? I got some grey cotton ones last year and I'm still wearing them. Also a magnolia bush bought last year is just about to flower again and cost half the price of one at the local garden centre. I really reccommend their plants and their jaffa cakes are lovely too.

Their Jaffa Cakes are amazing! Nothing like the real ones but in a good way - they're quite thin and delicate with a gorgeous orange taste. They seem like a higher quality, posher version of the real ones iyswim? I think Which magazine awarded them top marks in their taste trial (I love Which magazine!) Also, yy to everything else on this thread. You've got me jonesing for a Lidl spree now.

I have a quite posh lidi by me. I second the bakery it's so so good the choc crossaints are huge and amazing. I wouldn't bother with other supermarket ones now.

I recently bought a kilo of Lavazza coffee beans for a tenner - huge saving compared with sainsburys weight/price

I'm
Excited about their coffee syrups bit not bought yet

Muller corner yoghurt school cheap there and often petit filous

My kids love their yoghurt drink think it's under a pound.

Our local lidl is far, far nicer than our local aldi.

I prefer the chopped tomatoes in lidl, aldi's are just not as nice. Love lidl's version of kinder beuno, absolutely gorgeous!!
The cat food (the biscuits - ours love it)
Vine tomatoes
Salad bags
Onions
Crisps! Amazing
Toilet roll - good for price
Tortilla wraps
Peppers - soooo much cheaper than tesco
