Frugal Laundry Liquid

I got this recipe of Pinterest and I think it's pretty good for coloureds and dark clothes and towels.

I still use powder for whites.

I have no idea if it would work on stained kids clothes but may save some people a few pennies.

1/4 cup of washing soda
1/4 cup of borax/borax substitute (Boots or Borax off Amazon)
4 TBS of washing up liquid (currently using Aldi Silk and Lavender Balm)
Water.

I made this up in a 1.5 litre bottle which had held Waitrose Essential and I honestly cannot see any difference in its effectiveness.

The dried ingredients last for ages.

PS. Forgot to say add some warm water to the dry ingredients, give it a good shake, then top up with colder water to shake again. It bubbles up but then calms down.

Shake before use.

You don't need borax, I never use it.

Yes you are probably right. Just I have some to use up so I put it in, will take a look at that link. It saves me a bit of money.

This recipe eliminates all the soap grating. I used to enjoy making the gloop, felt like a scientist. Mine is not gloopy, just a liquid.

I grate the soap in the food processor Wink. It sets solid and as you scoop portions liquid comes out. Bit odd but it cleans well.
