washing machine door clip snapped right off!! No money to buy a new one !

Now what do I do?

It has snapped right off. The machine is 10m yrs old and on its way out anyway...in the past it has travelled across the room on spin cycle and makes an almighty noise at one point of the wash. Sounds like drum is loose.. no money to fix it so have just continued using it

Can you order a replacement for espares ? We fixed our tumble dryer catch for about £5

Try partsmaster or espares for the catch. Make sure you get a set with not just the sticking out catch on the door, but also the hole it goes into on the washing machine itself (if you see what I mean). It won't cost much more, but will make the job MUCH easier. Then it's a simple screwdriver job.

There is a brilliant haynes manual for washing machines - look for it in the library, but the catch is a simple enough job. If unsure, espares sometimes have videos online of parts being replaced or try youtube!

Echo getting a spare from espares. We did that for the tumble drier door catch which DS1 pushed inwards and snapped off. It was about £18 I think and there are always tutorials on youtube to show you how to fix it.

It might have been less money, not sure now.

We used e spares when our door latch broke.

Try freecycle.

another vote for espares.

You may be able to open and close it using a screwdriver or knife or something.
Worth a go!

Keep it going as long as it'll go,and in the meantime keep a look out for a replacement on the likes of freecycle.

A couple of machines ago we had one that snapped its latch off. It survived another 5 years having the latch superglued back on at regular intervals.
