Contact lenses

I have been looking around at buying contact lenses online as I have heard it's a lot cheaper. But for a 6-month supply of Proclear Toric lenses for both eyes, I am still looking at £60

Does anybody know what Specsavers currently charge? My Dfather pays £10 per month, but I don't think he has any astigmatisms requiring special lenses.

I have specsavers own brand Toric lenses, £18 per month for monthly replacement inc solutions

I'm switching to Asdas monthlies if my eyes like them (I didn't get on with specsavers own brand for some reason) because the fluid they do as part of their packages has an in-built protein remover.

It will be half the cost of specsavers but I don't need toric lenses.

I've used asda before and found them to be good plus I dont have to pay for parking.

cheapest way in my experience is to buy lenses in 6 or 12 month packs from Specsavers online.

Cheaper than in store, bizarrely. Don't buy the 'all-in' packages, it is cheaper to buy the lenses and pay for the annual checkup separately. I buy my solution when it is on special offer at Tesco - that also works out cheaper.

£18 a month for monthly disposables - need those as better for my astigmatism with Specsavers. Includes free check ups for glasses and contacts, all solutions and a free pair of glasses every year. Plus I got a 50% off voucher off glasses, so also got some cheap sunglasses too.

I have a friend who works in an optician, she says lenses for specs are only 20p each to buy in.

Can you imagine the mark up?

I have booked myself in for a free sight test at Vision Express & then will order the lenses if nothing has changed (which I don't think it will have, it hasn't in about 10 years - my eyes just got bad, then stayed there )

Fluffy seems like it's quite a lucrative business

I've started using daysoft lenses - £5.99 per box of 30 daily disposable lenses (you obviously need 2 boxes) but very pleased.

My dh uses Daysoft and has for a year - much prefers them to his old Acuvuve ones
