And we are still in a mess (54k) but I just had a tiny crack in the wall! Ppi claim agreed and it will pay off the smallest card and free up 350 quid to start the next one! It's only a small step but I feel like a giant leap! So, for all those who have posted kindly, here is a bit of good news.

Good news Nerf. Use the £350 to attack the card with the highest APR.

Your debt is large but it can be done, good luck.

That's good
Getting out of debt is 3 billion times harder than getting into it and you're tackling it really well

Well done, I still have the letters confirming I paid off my cards.

Make sure you pay the pro-rata interest, you usually have a few quid to pay the month afterwards.

Thats great news, well done Grin

Tesco are doing a 12 month 0% credit card with 0% balance transfer. Not sure if you want to go down that route but if you are sensible, put a direct debit in place and make sure you pay it off at the end this is great.

Nerfmother · 16/06/2013 08:26

Thanks, I did move some to that and am paying double the minimum to try to get it over with.
Really nice of you all to post with some encouragement Grin

Well done. Paying off debt is exhausting but you're on the way. Good on you!

Moneysavingexperts newsletter was talking about that tesco cc in its newsletter this week.

There's a poster in the money matters section who's either a financial advisor or an accountant who says with cc don't have a DD but a standing order for a fixed amount.

If people only pay the min payment every month the amount you pay actually decreases each month so you pay loads of interest but hardly any capital.

It took me ages to understand what she meant.
