Making reusable wipes.

I've got a load of vests that DD has outgrown, so thinking of making them into reusable wipes. Currently I just wet a muslin and use that in the house but they are really big and a bit of a faff since I only use it once then wash it. Should I just wet them as I use them, or put them in a tub with water or oil or something?.

Don't keep damp cloths about as they become a breeding ground for bacteria. Cut them to size but keep dry.

I used to make up a solution with water, baby oil, baby bath or shampoo and a few drops of tea tree oil. They were fine so long as I remembered to change the solution every two days but after ds4 was potty trained, they weren't worth it as I wasn't using them enough so I then kept them dry and wet them as needed. Just threw them in the nappy bucket with the nappies to wash, then.

I bought some cheap face cloths and cut them into quarters.

We used to call it a flannel.

You can wash baby wipes...they wash lots of times.

Morrisons used to do 4 x flannels for under a £1. Not sure if they are more now, but they are good value and when they get a bit tired, they then become cleaning cloths. Still going years later.
