New thread for all of us Grin.

OP posts:
HarrietJ0nes · 11/05/2012 09:14

Ooh I need to eBay some stuff.

louiespence · 11/05/2012 09:23

You have a very nice neighbour Spew!

AdoraBell · 11/05/2012 17:40

Very nice nieghbour spew glad you also got a tenner off by booking.

Today I'm only spending the road tolls, I estimate £3-4 depending which road I take.

Today OH is getting booze and the new non-alcohol beer, plus soft drinks for tomorrow. Unless he forgets, in which case we'll get that and the other Barbeque stuff in the morning. Chile has recently updated the drink driving laws to zero tolerance, which is really good.

I'm feeling much better today and the boiler is fixed, made a lovely (even if I do say so myself) chocolate cake last night instead of cleaning the kitchen so I need to have a whizz round today.

duchesse · 11/05/2012 19:15

I spent money today but for part of it actually felt as though I had won. I took the bloody filthy tip of a car to a valeting place near where I go rowing to ask for a quote on valeting the inside. 8 pounds!! Eight little pounds to restore a pigtip to useable. I nearly had the valeting lady's hand off. Even left a 2 pound tip. Plus I didn't have to pay parking fee as left it there while out rowing.

Post-rowing coffee was free due to having paid for friend's coffee a few weeks ago.

Had to buy new trainers because giant puppy has eaten my old ones. 45 quids in that awful sports shop.

Leilandri · 11/05/2012 19:21

Very nearly a NSD day here. Have spent the day at home with my 2 DS's and my mum. DS2 has really bad chickenpox (bless him he's only 9mo) and hasn't slept for the past 2 nights, so nor have I :(

My mum decided to offer to have him for the night (DS1 is at a sleepover with their other Nanna), so on the way home from dropping them both off I treated myself to a bar of dairy milk to scoff enjoy in my nice long hot bath this evening, so £2 in co-op Grin

Harr1etJ0nes · 11/05/2012 19:28

£6 for insect killer for the greenhouse.
£2 on bread
£2 on toilet rolls

louiespence · 11/05/2012 21:41

Have managed to develop conjunctivitis just in time for my first girlie weekend away in years!! So that cost me £9 at the pharmacy this morning.

Otherwise just 60 pence on a pack of mini cheddars from the vending machine at work, so a reasonable day on the spending front. This weekend is going to be expensive though.....

Hope your DS gets better soon Leilandri!

AdoraBell · 11/05/2012 22:45

Leilandri

Hope DS gets better quickly, and you enjoy your chocolate.

Very nearly NSD here, only -£1.50 on road tolls, had to come back the long way in traffic because I didn't have the pennies for the return journey. What I do have though, is hot water-at lastGrin

The humle abode is almost presentable for tomorrow, just need to hide the ironing away

MamaGeekChic · 12/05/2012 14:03

Well Thursday was a bit of a disaster (as expected) spent £50 in cash and then another £13 switched on a round of drinks. Friday we spent £30 on lunch- eeek! completely down to OHs expensive choices as I shared with the little one.

Today, nothing so far but OH spent £10 on a haircut.

Leilandri · 12/05/2012 19:08

Spent £19 today, on some veggie plants and compost, some slug pellets (buggars are eating everything quicker than it can grow :() and 2 pinboards for the DS's bedroom where their random crap brought home from nursery wonderful artwork can live, instead of cluttering up my fridge!

Not sure what to do tomorrow - it is DH's last Sunday off for a long time, as he is starting a new job on monday and Sunday working is compulsory. Really want to make the most of tomorrow, and it's supposed to be sunny, so mighe go somewhere nice and spend money!!!

Harr1etJ0nes · 12/05/2012 19:24

Car booting tomorrow & put my wedding dress & dd2s bridesmaid dress on eBay. Dd1s has chocolate on it so need to way up cleaning/selling costs etc.
Hoping to make a bit this week as I'm over spending!

Leilandri · 13/05/2012 19:12

Spent £25 today on a family day out. We went to a train centre, which has ride-on miniature trains, soft play, crazy golf and a model village. Money spent included entrance fee for 2 adults, 2 coffees in cafe + 1 icecream for DS1, 2 rounds of crazy golf, and picnic bits from co-op on the way, so not a bad spend really :)

DS2 is now getting over his chickenpox (thank goodness) we had some smiles today, and he has been eating better so hopefully this week will be less stressful than last :)

Harr1etJ0nes · 13/05/2012 19:20

£25 from car boot. Not great but better than nowt.
It's a fine line between being cheap enough to get rid of your crap & making money!

spewgloriousspew · 13/05/2012 19:28

Here's hoping for a better week, Leilandri. We've not yet had the joys of pox, but I know all about sleepless nights and sympathise!

A nice weekend with the in-laws, just topping up on diesel. And then sold our old keyboard for £80 this evening. Probably could have got a bit more, but it's £80 more than nothing. And done via a free-classifieds website so no ebay/paypal fees.

Harriet, I've thought about selling my wedding dress but can't quite bring myself to do so. I'm not going to wear it again, but it'll be the last thing I sell if I have to.

And, louie, sorry to hear about your gammy eyes. Hope they're not causing you too much trouble.

AdoraBell · 13/05/2012 22:45

Well, yesterday OH spent £200 in the supermarket for the Barbeque. It went well, lot's of drinkies left over but not too much food.

Today we had another expensive lunch. £70 because it's Mother's day and OH wanted to treat meSmile

I couldn't sell my wedding dress. I did know someone who put her's in a skip- it's not even that they divorced, just chucked it out because she wouldn't be using it againShock

duchesse · 13/05/2012 22:51

As expected, a slightly expensive day today:

15 pounds on engraving and boxes for Ten Tors medals (I had DS's done as well because he always refused to spend the money on having them engraved at the time)

25 pounds on team photos for DD1 and DD2.

14 pounds on post-walk junk food for the girls as we got home at an awkward time and they needed fast nutrition.

AdoraBell · 14/05/2012 13:49

Louise

Hope your eyes are better now.

Today I need to get some rubbish food for a shared breakfast DD1's class is having tomorrow. I'm detailed for fruit juice, but the ther kids will not drink the fresh stuff I normally buy, it has to be chemical laden long life stuff. Unlike UK long life drinks this stuff is positively toxic no good

naughtymummy · 14/05/2012 14:53

£65 in Morrisons on Saturday with loads of treats and £14 atbutchers, so not too bad .Have £90 for the next 10 days to stay in budget. think we can do it.

FaceCrack · 14/05/2012 17:02

Spent £20 at the local fair on Sunday, otherwise a quiet weekend was had money wise.

Spent £8 today on breakfast for my team at work.
Hoping for a NSD tomorrow.

duchesse · 14/05/2012 18:19

Hmm, spent 1 pound in a charity shop on a skirt and a top for DD3, then 3 pounds in the dump shop (fab place for bargains) on 3 things. So 4 pounds today.

Harr1etJ0nes · 14/05/2012 18:51

I'm not particularly sentimental about clothes. Not mine anyway.

Went to Booths on the way home for bread. Left £20 lighter Blush

MamaGeekChic · 14/05/2012 19:47

Weekend report from me...

Saturday- £115 in Sainsburys :( this did include £20 on a workd dress for me (reduced from £40) and a t-shirt for DP

Sunday- ended up +£20 after returning a £22 top to Zara that i bought a couple of weeks ago and havent worn, £2 for parking to return said top

Today- £4 on lunch, took brekkie to work but forgot lunch in a hurry this morning, not well spent, m&s fuller for longer for meal thing smelled amazing, tasted of nothing!

MamaGeekChic · 14/05/2012 19:48

Forgot £60 on diesel, should be able to claim back about £30 from work though

louiespence · 14/05/2012 23:16

Hen Weekend spend not as bad as it could have been! So £40 on food and drinks for Saturday (we had already prepaid for evening meal and had wine in the hotel room before we went out which helped)!

Then Blush spent £65 on a spa treatment on the Sunday morning, though I had not booked one in order to save money, when it came to it I really wanted to treat myself, so I had a massage, facial and mini-manicure & pedicure - bliss!!!

Today I've spent £4.50 taking the DS's to a farm park and £11 at Sainsburys, topping up on a few bits and pieces! Oh and £1.60 at the library to hire a DVD for ds1.

Thanks for the good wishes by the way, my eye is still infected unfortunately despite the eye-drops! Might have to go to the docs (is it wrong that I'm avoiding due to prescription charges!). I will have a new found sympathy for the DSs when they get conjunctivitis as it's really quite irritating and sore like you have permanent grit in youreye!

AdoraBell · 15/05/2012 02:54

Not much spent today, £3 on the roads £4 on after school - shopping snack and then £30 in the supermarket. Sounds like a lot but I shouldn't need anything other than diesel for a while now. Oh, DDs will need hockey sticks for school next week.
