Ok moneysaving thrifty ladies. I have just cleaned out DS1's bedroom and have a big plastic bag full of old pants (all clean) I normally pass his clothes on to a younger child, but draw the line at used smalls. I don't want to throw them away as it seems such a waste of fabric. Does anyone have any thrifty ideas?

Salvation Army for 3rd world?
Hospice? Hospital? Refuge? Social services for childrens homes/foster carers - they may find them useful if children arrive at short notice...
Freecycle and see if you get any takers?

Use them as rags and dusters. 't Is what my mum used to do.

You can cash them in all over the place now. You don't get much, about 50p a kg I think (might be way off the mark there). If you have a look in the yellow pages you should find somewhere local to you.

How old is he? Maybe a local nursery school. Lots of little ones have toilet accidents and not all of them bring back their change of clothes.

Donate them. A lot of charities sell any materials they can't use (because its used underwear or stained or too far gone) to the ragman so still make money from them.

Turn them into bunting and have your friends round for a jubilee party!

Actually I work in nursery and we're always desperate for spare pants as they go on a child and forget to come back to nursery.
