Well, we're down to one salary and relying on credit cards at the end of each month which has to stop. I don't buy a lot of clothes but when I do I try to get nice ones that last. Can you recommend anywhere that sells well-made, lasting and nice clothes at a budget? (for an approaching 30-something lady!)

Many thanks

You can get some lovely clothes in charity shops but not everyone is happy to wear second hand. I've bought some super skirts, blouses, jackets etc but would draw the line at jumpers as they tend to bobble and show their age.

E-bay, carboot sales and any good sales i spot Grin, i never buy at full price Smile. H&M are good (good prices and quality).

e-bay especially for white stuff (seconds and secondhand) and boden. I've never had sucess in charity shops but think that's because they're all full of primark and tesco clothes round here

carbooties do it for me everytime, be prepared to hunt and you can get some great stuff. Bought a lovely gap tshirt today for 50p

Mollymax · 24/07/2011 22:05

The majority of my clothes come from TU at Sainsburys. I often wait for when they do a 25% off offer and stock up on tee shirts etc then. Very good value for money.

alliwant · 24/07/2011 22:26

mollymax I do that too. My eldest is only 3.5 and I have stuff in the cupboard to fit a 6 year old, grab a bargin when you can.

HavePatience · 24/07/2011 22:31

I find stuff really cheap in the LaRedoute Sales online. They always have vouchers for next order and sales are quite cheap

happybubblebrain · 25/07/2011 21:00

Carboot sales can be great, TK Maxx - sales, H&M - sales, M&S - sales, the odd item in the Monsoon 70% sale, supermarket sales occasionally. And a few other independent shops when they are having a ..... sale.

I don't know why people pay full price for clothes at all. I like expensive-ish clothes, Boden, Brora, White company - get stuff in sales or eBay.

I'm not 'fashionable' though.

Thanks for your ideas ladies! I've got a bit of birthday money to spend so I fancy some nice day dresses/tunics! I'll let you know if I get anything!
