Bars of soap

Anyone returned to using bars of soap rather than shower gel and how much cheaper is it?

I use soap as im aiming to cut down plastic. Love Dove beauty bars and lidl do 2 for 99p.
If im feeling flush i might go to the lush sale.

We use bars of soap - by far the best way to keep them dry and therefore last longer is with magnetic soap holder. We have them over the basin and in the shower. This kind of thing although cheaper are available!

I really like using soap but if I use it consistently, I find that it can be drying, Especially on my hands.

I have been using the African black soap on my body as it is a great exfoliator and L'occitane Almond on my hands. The l'occitane one has long lost its scent.

DH has always preferred and used soap over the years.Good old-fashioned Wright's coal tar or imperial leather.Now I'm using soap too as we are keen to cut back on packaging.Enjoying treating myself to some lovely ones,the latest an organic olive oil one lasting absolutely ages.I have a wooden nail brush on leave it upside down on the basin and pop the soap on it and it dries out and leaves no mess.

I’ve just come back from flighing abroad with hand luggage only. It was great to just take my soap in a bag and not have to bother decanting shower gel into a small plastic bottle. Might look at hair soap for future trips

We've always used Dove, but I switched to Pears on the back of reading this thread and had a terrible allergic reaction to it! Back to Dove I go.
