We are selling lots of dd old clothes, all in fab condition. Mainly from Joules, Boden< Monsoon and similar.

My clothes mainly from similar shops.

A wicker dolls pram with bedding - like new

People won't pay more than a couple of pounds for clothes at car boot sales, so don't put your prices too high.

cece · 24/07/2010 17:28

You might be better off eBaying it. IME people don't pay more than £1 per item (jeans) usual price is 50p per item (tshirt)

I also have some unworn hunter wellies in orginal box etc, would they be better off on ebay.

Also have an armani leather jacket - hardly worn and a few other designer bits, I am assuming they will be better off on ebay.

I am going to ebay some really expensive stuff but there is so much and we want to get rid.

I was thinking 50p for tops trousers and £1 for child's dresses.

Maybe a little more for adult bits.

I also have a victorian style doll's house that dd and dh have been putting togther for years. Complete with furniture. I feel a little guilty about selling it tbh.

Its free listings weekend on ebay this weekend and you start start the auction at whatever price you want for free.

IMO I would list like mad- maybe on a 3 or 5 day listing and do car boot next week.

overmydeadbody · 24/07/2010 17:36

yep hunter wellies and designer bits much better off on ebay.

TheBestAManCanGet · 24/07/2010 17:45

Maybe I need to ebay more stuff than I thought. I want to make the most that I can as the money is going to charity,

I literally have nine years of clothes for dd and I really cannot be arsed to ebay it all.

Meglet · 24/07/2010 17:52

Heavens, don't sell decent brands at a car boot. If it's anything like our local ones people will only be willing to pay 50p for items of clothing.

RunforFun · 24/07/2010 17:54

Well thats your choice.

You ask for advice and people who know these things are telling you how to make the most money from it.

If you really cant be arsed why dont you just drop the stuff off at the charity shop and let them do the 'hard' work for you.

TheBestAManCanGet · 24/07/2010 18:12

Not sure why I am getting a I asked for advice and have acted on it.

Have just been going through and pulled out some designer clothes, handbags and watches and a camera.

All the Next, Marks stuff I have saved for carboot.

What about slightly better highstreet like boden, joules and zara should I car boot that.

I am going to keep the dolls house to draw people to the stall and maybe donate that to a charity shop after.

I did think about donating it all to a charity shop, I work in one part time. But I thought it would be good for dd to help us all sell it on a stall/ ebay and then donate it. She is quite the budding little business woman.

I didn't mean I didn't want to ebay anything. But there are suitcases and suitcases of clothes and that would take me days to list it all. I also don't live near a post office ( am in the middle of nowhere) The lady behind the counter has a fit if you bring in more than one item. I can just imagine her face if I turned up with hundreds of parcels.

TheBestAManCanGet · 24/07/2010 18:15

Thanks for the info on free ebay listings, I am going to wait an hour or so and then start listing.

OP posts:
TheBestAManCanGet · 24/07/2010 21:42

I have decided to wait a week and ebay some bits in the meantime and then do the carboot.

Thanks everyone

Good luck. I did the same on last free listings weekend.

However the car boot stuff is still in attic...oooppppss

MrsCrafty · 12/08/2010 01:05

Can I add the Lady in the the Post Office will be glad that you are there, you and others who are ebaying may be keeping her in a job.

My suggestion is that you weigh everything before you put it on ebay so you know the postage costs in advance and go to the PO at a less busy time, not the day the pensioners are getting theirs or whatever. When you put the labels on put a tiny pencil mark in the corner so you know what you are sending ie; 1st/2nd/general parcels. It really will not take you much time. The counter staff can print off one receipt these days.

Good luck.
