Just wondering if anyone has been in a similar situation with a 1 year old.
My son who's 15 months tested postive for covid. His father has it also.
He has a temp 38+ and is very upset , just screaming.
We've phone out of hours for advice but are awaiting a call back. They are quite busy so don't know when this will be.
We've given calpol. Is there anything else you would advise? I've read conflicting advice about putting a wet cloth on their head . Has anyone been told which by a medical professional? I'm so worried as he's so young and I've read his immune system is still developing. He's had colds a few times and ended up on antibiotics as they settled in his chest so now I'm very worried that he's got covid
Any advice welcome

No advice but I would ask this to be moved to parents or children's health because you've had no replies?

Or just repost there?

I hope he's feeling a bit better now OP. If there's no specific concern, just treat it like a bad cold and keep his temp down with Calpol/Nurofen. I always found junior Nurofen better for fevers than Calpol.

If he's prone to chest infections it may well go to his chest, but there's nothing about it being Covid rather than a cold that might make it worse for him.

If it's any reassurance, my son was turned 1 in early 2020 and I'm pretty sure we had Covid in early March, before lockdown. He was very snotty and fevery but it actually didn't go to his chest, like most colds did when he was a toddler. He's had it at last three times since.
