Chest pain during Covid

can someone reassure me this is a thing please. Started feeling a bit under the weather Wednesday afternoon. Wednesday night was awake most of the night with chest pains.

Thursday morning positive Covid test. Thursday/Friday generally felt rubbish congested, headache, tired, upset tummy, bloated, chest pains that go away with painkillers

yesterday and today the cold type symptoms have abated but the chest pain continues. It woke me up at 3am this morning and I had to read whilst the painkillers kicked in.

today my chest has been really painful on and off.

Is this normal?! I have read about post Covid chest pain but what about during. Naturally the internet just says dial 999 but pretty sure I’d know about it by now if I was having a heart attack??

I’d phone 111 at least just to get proper medical advise hope you feel better soon

I just worry they will automatically say go to A&E where there is a 10 hour wait. I cannot deal with that and have no childcare. Suppose I’m just looking for some reassurance it is more likely to be covid symptom.

All chest pain needs to be investigated at A and E.
Literally nobody on here can diagnose you @writingsonthewall

So get yourself to A and E. That's my best advice and I'm a nurse.

How did you get on at the hospital @writingsonthewall?

I was naughty and didn’t go. Instead I did a GP triage this morning after another night of pain. He agreed no need to go to A&E as no other worrying symptoms and the Covid test as well.

he’s given me some longer lasting iboprofen and some antacid type stuff so hopefully that will make it go away.

thanks for asking

Hope youre ok, OP. Chest pain can happen with Covid but it's something you need to keep an eye on as Covid can affect the cardiovascular system, and it can cause heart problems sometimes in the acute or chronic stage. Sorry not trying to scare you, hopefully it's nothing 💐
