Hello All, I am 28 weeks pregnant and I woke up with sudden dry mouth in the night after covid 4 weeks ago. It scared me as I thought I couldn't breathe because I couldn't swallow. It is driving me crazy as I am almost not able at all to sleep. I use gel and spray and I drink plenty of water but it's not working that well. My mouth gets dry nonetheless and I find the feel of the gel unpleasant. I am really worried about not sleeping for so long and I am beyond exhausted. I worry for my health and for the baby but also because I need to be able to operate during the day of course (go to work etc). This is making it impossible. Can those of you who found a way to manage it explain how you do it please? Thanks, Mkass

This used to happen to my but only during pregnancy. I was sent to the hospital where they looked at gestational diabetes. Ofc I never had it they just never had a clue about the cause and to this day neither did I.

Id be interested to see if anyone else posts.

Not much help! I’d just drink more water in the run up to bed.

Ice lollies worked for me when I had Covid- had a supply of ice blocks in the freezer and would get up and have one and it seemed to be more effective than water. As did electrolytes in my drink (like the rehydration sachets). It is a horrible feeling

Was it store bought ice lollies or you made your own? Thanks

I can’t remember what they are called in the UK- we call them zooper doopers- just the cheap plastic coated long thin ice blocks you can buy in multi packs
