Positive for covid last week, negative test Sunday am. Relatively mild symptoms.

Now I feel like hell. Exhaustion, headache, digestive issues, wierd, sudden anxiety of all things?

Is this normal for Covid 2024? I am jabbed up but i'm struggling with this. Anyone else had similar?

Yes. Got a bit better then loads worse. 2 weeks all in. Survived 2 prior bouts without getting very sick. Get well soon x

Did you have any time off work? I didn't whilst I was covid positive, but now feeling like i need to. I'm waking up in the mornings like something horrific is going to happen. it's very strange.

Yes this strain seems particularly bad for this.

Same with me - symptoms, tested positive, feeling yuk but coping then turned negative - by that point I felt fine. Day after turning negative felt like I had been run over - high temp for 6 days. Awful cough. Feel worse than the original illness.

It's a very odd one. I feel absolutely shattered yet can't seem to sleep either. wtf is that about.

It's not this strain. COVID has always been like this. The difference for the vast majority of people is that it's been a long time (years) since their last booster. The government threw everyone under the bus but not offering boosters to everyone who wanted one. Rest as much as you can so you don't end up with proper long COVID.

chocolatemonster · 01/02/2024 16:02

Only it's not been that long since my last booster which I had due to my job.

So not sure it's got anything to do with vaccine - def didn't feel like this the first time around.

Road kill sums it up perfectly

Me either, I'm coeliac so for some reason we get jabbed each time around regardless, so I had a jab in the autumn... this has still been the worst round of it so far...

About 2 weeks for us. No difference in how badly I got it (no booster and heavily pregnant) vs my NHS-working booster-vaccinated DH.

Had it this week for five days - shivery, chills, aches. Feel fine-ish today and did a 3k walk.

That's with no vaccinations though.

Hoping it doesn't last so long for me..

Started getting a dry throat on Monday evening, was a little under the weather Tuesday so decided to WFH, Wed am tested (as was due to host friends that evening, some of whom are vulnerable), clear positive. Felt absolutely horrific Thurs didn't get out of bed all day, today still sneezing and snotty, but head has cleared a bit and am out of bed again. I'm hoping will be clear and back to normal after the weekend...

I've had a lingering cough since I've had it (negative test on Monday there) and a slight "feeling" in my chest, slight headache just now and joints still a bit achey. Hopefully it goes soon.
