How long between covid and booster?

I've read differing recommendations online on how long you should leave it between covid and getting the booster? Some say 28 days, others around the 3 month mark. Does anyone know what the ideal time is. If not, how long would you leave it? I'm also going to have my flu vaccine at the same time, and don't want to leave that too long.

I was due to have my covid booster end September and day before tested positive, so haven't had it yet.

I was told about a month, as was my mil, so you can book it in now.

The longer, the better. At least 12 weeks or 3 months is the most reasonable timing, because Covid leaves you with enough antibodies for 3 months and because the vaccine is at least as taxing on the body as Covid, so the body needs to recover properly.

I tested positive for Covid on 2nd October. I phoned the number on the letter about my booster scheduled for 18th October and was told that the 28 day rule had been axed and that as long as I felt well I could keep the appointment.

The infection was mild and I tested negative on the fifth day. By the 18th I did feel fine and had my jab with no ill effects. LM

I'm in Wales, I don't know whether the policy is different elsewhere.
