Battery powered Christmas tree lights

Has anyone used Christmas tree lights that's powered by batteries. I see there is some battery lights online.

I will likely need to move the Christmas tree location around the home this year to a different corner but there no electrical power points near by. So I was thinking about battery lights. Has anyone used them before and are they any good?

Wrong forum?

I reckon the heat I'm suffering from covid currently could fire a few set of lights 😂

Not sure this belongs in the Covid forum but I'll answer, yes we have a tree which has battery operated lights attached and they are brilliant because of the flexibility. Last year was year 7 of use so it's lasted well too

We put new batteries in each year, and you must remember to remove the old ones before you put it in the loft/shed/under stairs cupboard

I am so sorry. This was not supposed to go in the covid place. This was supposed to go into chat. That was my plan.

They'll work for, but my advice would be to use good quality batteries. Cheap ones waste away too quickly, I find using Duracell last the whole season.

Yes I use them every year! Have done for about a decade. Really happy with them. The lights dim before they need new batteries so you can tell when you need to change them. The long strings seem to burn through batteries quicker, that's probably really obvious but it surprised me when a short string takes 2 AA batteries and lasts 2 Christmases, and a long string takes 4 batteries and lasts half a Christmas.

Yes, we use them because our tree goes nowhere near a plug.

the only downside is that they’re often on a timer so you have to turn them back on again after 4/6 hours.
