Hi doesn't anyone know if travel insurance would cover you for a uk break if you have a positive lft now that there doesn't seem to be any restrictions or need to test. My child has been staying at a friend's and came back and we've been informed there friends are positive, we're due to go away in a couple of days and wondered if the kids tested positive and were unwell if my husband could use his annual travel insurance. I'm hoping it won't come to this, but just incase as my mum would aslo be joining us
Thanks x

I think you'd need to check with the insurance company tbh.

I doubt it as there’s no restrictions you have to follow. Travel insurance would cover if you were actually too ill to travel, otherwise no idea why you (or anyone) would take a Covid test

As PP said, you'd have to check with travel insurance.

As for 'otherwise no idea why you (or anyone) would take a Covid test'

No idea why you (or anyone) cannot comprehend why someone would take a covid test.

Surely depends completely on the content of the policy and who it covers.

When we holidays during the height of Covid we always used Staysure but now that there are no restrictions on travel and no obligation to test for Covid I am not sure why you would need a specialist insurer.
If you and your family are covered for U.K. travel and one of you is too unwell to go then I doubt it matters if it’s Covid or not and if your child IS well enough but has a positive test then I doubt anyone would cover for that any more
