Looks like a faint positive. maybe take another in the morning to be sure.

Cupofteaaa5 · 05/04/2023 21:57

I'm sorry but that looks positive to me. I had a very faint line like that when I had covid, by the next day when I did another test it was much stronger

MintMa · 05/04/2023 21:57

It's positive. You're far more likely to get a false negative with all the new strains than a positive.

On page 6- two lines even faint lines indicate the test is positive

nocoolnamesleft · 05/04/2023 21:58

Sorry, that's a clear positive.

j81 · 05/04/2023 22:25

It's not a clear positive though because if you actually look at the test with no flash on you can't see the line on the actual test it's got no colour to the line what so ever

You definitely need to repeat in the morning. It’s not fair on all the medical professionals treating you, and all the vulnerable patients around you in the hospital.

LIZS · 05/04/2023 22:32

They would probably retest you there but obviously prefer you not to go if +.

j81 · 05/04/2023 22:35

No I wouldn't go now anyway until I have made sure Im definitely negative Im not due in until Friday so I'll test again in the morning and see what the outcome is because I don't feel like I've got covid and had it in October and it really knocked me down where I have no symptoms what so ever this time round if I do

Are the tests you have in date?

j81 · 05/04/2023 22:36

Yes I had to order them because of going into hospital

It's positive but you could either 1) coming down it at the start 2) at the tail end of it. It could be negative tomorrow fingers crosssed

RagamuffinCat · 05/04/2023 22:40

When I had surgery they said I had to wait a certain number of weeks after having covid before having it done, due to an increased risk of clotting.

fairtrauchled · 05/04/2023 22:41

It's positive. Do a repeat test tomorrow

j81 · 06/04/2023 10:54

Done another test this morning and it's negative so I'll repeat tonight and tomorrow morning how strange about the first test though

You could be at the end of an asymptomatic case of covid. That’s why it’s important to check, you’d still potentially transmit to the vulnerable within the hospital if that was the case

IsGoodIsDon · 06/04/2023 13:15

That looks like my test today after being very strongly positive on Saturday

MintMa · 06/04/2023 14:53

You can Google the risks of having surgery after a positive test and also whether you could spread covid to all those involved in your care. I'd give the hospital a call and see what they say.

Craftyrose · 06/04/2023 14:56

When I went in for surgery recently, I was asked to do a covid test before going in. They repeated it before I went down for the surgery anyway. Do a test just before you go in to make sure.
