Just got a positive, my second bout less than 3 months after my first.

Im immune suppressed through medication and took antivirals first time round and felt awful.

all I’ve got so far this time is a really bloated and sore stomach and the sniffles.

how do people tend to fare 2nd time round?
not sure whether I’ll need antivirals again or just crack on

Hi - I am also on round 2 of Covid - tested positive yesterday and feel dreadful but in a slightly different way to the first time. Also on immunosuppressants but my first covid was in August 21 so before the antivirals. Same chest soreness, cough and awful headache but definitely more cold-y than the first round (so far). Also have the itchy ears and swollen glands i get with every illness so that is pleasant!

Yes I just feel like I have a cold so far. Think I’ve probably had it a few days as was really suffering from sore tummy, awful cramps and bloating for a few days before the cold started and I put it down to my IBD flaring up but think it could be covid related

I am on my 2nd bout, I didnt get Covid in 2020 or 2021 but in Sept 22 a week after my booster I caught it and then more recently, late Dec 22, I have it far worse this time but suspect I have caught a cold alongside it. This time, I have sore red eyes, stomach cramps, a cough (although only at night) a painful throat that has been constant at night time, since 28th December, I feel sick cant taste anything, have no energy so sleeping loads, on the plus side ive lost 5 pounds over Christmas and New Year as cant face food.

I am diabetic and have other health issues but am a healthy BMI and my diet, exercise is good so thought my symptoms would be lesser this time round, I was 2 stone heavier in September. First time round I had only mild symptoms for 3/4 days and only tested because of my job. I knew straight away this time I had it though the lack of taste test (ate a raw onion) and not being able to smell my christmas candle or perfume, my son told me I smelt nice, and I realised I couldnt smell anything so tested.

Way better. I kept on forgetting l had it to be honest. But l did have it pretty bad the first time. Plus l had 0 vaccines when l got it the 1st time and 2 by the 2nd time

First time completely floored me and left me with long Covid. Second time was no worse than a mild cold, although didn't help the long Covid!

Two colleagues are on #3.

One is fine.
One is really, really poorly.

1st time was before I was entitled to the vaccine, that was bad. I don’t remember the week.
2nd time was about 8 months post vaccine, if it hadn’t been Covid I would have still gone to work.
3rd time, about 3 weeks ago, as bad as the first time. I’m not entitled to the booster.

Would you mind sharing how it impacted your long covid second time round? Thanks

Jules912 · 06/01/2023 14:59

I had a week or two of bad days but otherwise it seemed to make no difference.

BlastedPimples · 06/01/2023 15:17

I've had it 3 times. All horrible.

I'm worried about the long term effects of each bout. Apparently it can cause damage to so many organs and completely skew your immobile response.

Thanks @Jules912.
