Positive and then two negatives?

Hi all
Im a nurse and I did work with covid patients this week.
I feel ropey, like I’ve got a cold coming but nothing major, mainly just achy and a bit nauseous.
I did a test this morning and it had a very very faint line under the T I’ve done another two tests since and they are stark negative..

so do I assume I am negative, or positive? I have had my booster jab a week ago, wondering if that’s caused me to have it mildly?

It's not a live vaccine, so no you don't have Covid from the jab. I would really hope a nurse would know that.

If it's positive it's positive. Did you test your throat as well as nose? You might just have a very mild infection that your body is dealing with.

I didn’t mean that the jab had given me covid 😂 I meant the jab may have caused me to have it more mildly than I would have anyway.
thanks for the snarky comment though! 👍🏻

If you've had one positive I'd say you have covid.
When I had covid in September I found that different brands of
tests were giving different results. I tested with a flowflex first and got a faint line. The next day with a different box it was negative. Day 4 a big red +.
You need to do throat and nose regardless of what the instructions say.

Statistically you are far more likely to get a false negative than a false positive. Also Lateral flow tests are not the best tests for symptomatic testing , they were really for asymptomatic testing.

If you test once positive , even if subsequent tests are negative , you are positive and as a health care worker should follow policy about testing (normally days 5 /6) to go back to work .
