Is it ok to handle people's presents?

Had a very clear positive result yesterday, but have already been ill for 3 weeks so haven't done any Christmas prep at all! Is it ok to handle my family's presents, wrapping etc? A couple of them are immune compromised.

Presume you mean Covid? Since transmission vía surfaces is very unlikely, I'd say minimal risk! The virus would only stay on the wrapping paper for a few hours at most. Don't worry about it.

Sorry just realised post is under Covid topic so of course Covid!!

It’s fine. Just wash your hands as normal and carry on as normal. Perhaps update yourself on the info on how Covid is spread.

There's never been any evidence that people caught it from touching anything, it was pure paranoia at the start - understandable but still paranoia. We all probably touch things many times a day which have been handled by someone with covid

I think TBH regardless of likelihood of transmission, I would think about the actual people involved and how they would feel about it.

Some people I know are very relaxed about covid and wouldn't mind at all. Others are really seriously worried about it still, and I think if your relatives feel this way I'd do them the courtesy of not touching their presents while you're positive. I'm sure they'll understand (and appreciate the gesture) if that means that you send something late or remotely.

It wouldn't bother me, FWIW. But I am not immunocompromised.
