Covid and isolating in December 2022

Hi I tested positive this morning after being up half night coughing and aching. I only tested as my mum and dad are vulnerable. Feel awful. I had it exactly this time last year. Son 12 has it and so has my partner. Just wondering what the isolation rules are? Do I need to still isolate if I feel better, say Tuesday? I still get sick pay from work so I’m ok that way. Work in a warehouse, so quite physical. In Scotland if that helps

You don't need to isolate at all unless your work place specifies, simple as that.

Gov guidance says adults should isolate for 5 days after the day of the positive test (or until you no longer have a temp if that goes on longer, I think). It's not law though

Ideally you would isolate for 5 days from 1st symptoms but its advice rather than law

I’m Teaching Assistant and school staff are told to isolate for 5 days after a positive test. We need to self certify the illness on our return but show a photo of the positive LFT result

I’m a teacher and we have been told the opposite to @Twiglets1. No need to isolate at all and to carry on as normal if we feel well enough to. I had Covid 2 weeks ago and only had 2 days off when I was feeling really unwell.

I think the guidance is to try and keep away from others for five days, whic Is what any decent person would do, especially this time of year - some people have minor symptoms, but others feel really poorly and it'd mess their xmas up totally.
