Covid and isolating in December 2022

Hi I tested positive this morning after being up half night coughing and aching. I only tested as my mum and dad are vulnerable. Feel awful. I had it exactly this time last year. Son 12 has it and so has my partner. Just wondering what the isolation rules are? Do I need to still isolate if I feel better, say Tuesday? I still get sick pay from work so I’m ok that way. Work in a warehouse, so quite physical. In Scotland if that helps

You don't need to isolate at all unless your work place specifies, simple as that.

But I’m still reading you need to isolate for 5 days?

Gov guidance says adults should isolate for 5 days after the day of the positive test (or until you no longer have a temp if that goes on longer, I think). It's not law though

If u can I would isolate . U don't want to pass ot on. Hope u all pick up soon.

Ideally you would isolate for 5 days from 1st symptoms but its advice rather than law

I’m Teaching Assistant and school staff are told to isolate for 5 days after a positive test. We need to self certify the illness on our return but show a photo of the positive LFT result

I’m a teacher and we have been told the opposite to @Twiglets1. No need to isolate at all and to carry on as normal if we feel well enough to. I had Covid 2 weeks ago and only had 2 days off when I was feeling really unwell.

I think the guidance is to try and keep away from others for five days, whic Is what any decent person would do, especially this time of year - some people have minor symptoms, but others feel really poorly and it'd mess their xmas up totally.
