To wonder if the covid tests are correct

Just as above -- I've had covid and had it for the first time a while ago, my test was positive very early on.

I was ill again with the exact same symptoms - taste went, things smelled like hand sanitizer, burning throat and nose. I didn't test positive once. I took 5 tests in total. I just find it odd.

I know that there is loads of things going around and that covid isn't the only contender in a long list of crappy illnesses but I'm wondering if anyone else has tested negative when they had been positive -- I guess we would never know really if the test wasn't accurate but it feels strange and I'm hearing so many people having issues with the tests

I think some tests are poor quality.
I covid in September, got a positive on day 1with a flowflex test and had some negative tests over the next couple of days with another brand. It wasn't until day 4 that the other brand tested positive.

Did you swab your throat as well as your nose? You can do that even with the nose-only ones and it can be a bit more accurate (don't eat for half an hour beforehand).

LFT don’t show up as positive as early a PCR. It can take a few days before they show as positive.

I did once -- not for all of them so maybe I should have done!
