You don’t have to isolate anymore

achangeisafoot · 06/11/2022 13:44

It's fine, covid isn't very transmission outside anyway. Keep your distance from others. If you want to wear a mask (or a scarf) but I think it's fine

ClocksGoingBackwards · 06/11/2022 13:45

Carry on as normal.

ohidoliketobe · 06/11/2022 13:47

I'd still do drop off if it's all outdoors. I'd avoid getting unnecessarily close to anyone and just be on my way straight away. There will be many others with covid at drop off all over the country, but unaware as mass testing is no longer in place

spaceshiptrain · 06/11/2022 14:40

What do you mean? Are you considering keeping your child off? So they can be around you and increase the chance of them getting it?

Did you not have a vaccine that protected others from you when you got it?

TyotyaKlava · 06/11/2022 14:45

I’m triple jabbed and definitely not want to keep the kids off school. Works better for me if they are not at home whilst I’m plastered to the couch in the lounge. I was not sure what to do that’s all. My husband has just tested positive as well

Take them to school as normal. Keep away as much as possible from close contact/chats with people outside school. (you don’t know who may be vulnerable/family members may be) transmission is very unlikely outside and from a distance.

Your kids are probably in contact with it in school anyway. Along with all the winter viruses circulating.

TyotyaKlava · 06/11/2022 17:10

Do I tell school about it though?

My DH is CEV because he's on immunosuppresents and I wouldn't have a problem with you doing this @TyotyaKlavaas long as you don't hang about chatting unnecessarily.

PP are right to say it's hard to pass it on outside – DD has a Masters in infectious diseases and she say it's roughly on a par with being struck by lightning unless you are in prolonged close contact with someone. I don't think the school need to be informed, only if one of your DCs gets it.

TheChosenTwo · 06/11/2022 18:39

Just be sensible, don’t loiter, time it so you get there when the doors are already open, wear a mask and get back home to the sofa!

TyotyaKlava · 06/11/2022 18:50

Chatting wouldn’t be a problem, I never talk to any of the parents lol 😃
normally I drop them off at breakfast club so will just have to stay at a safe distance when dropping and collecting them x

Just drop them off at school and avoid contact with others

troppibambini6 · 06/11/2022 21:46

I've had this last week. I tested positive on Tuesday. I just left it til the the doors were open nipped in and out didn't speak to anyone or go near any body. I didn't say anything to school.

Hopefully you won't feel too bad.... this is my second time having it and I've had one more jab since. It was much milder and im pretty much back to normal tonight ( a bit tired) and have tested negative so six days of illness in total. I was really rough for 2 weeks last time. Everything crossed it's the same for you both.

sheepandcaravan · 06/11/2022 21:49

@spaceshiptrain what do you mean?

sheepandcaravan · 06/11/2022 21:49

Why would me having a vaccine help you?
