Natural v Vaccine immunity? I’ve had two vaccines (2nd one a year back) not had the booster. I tested positive for covid and currently on day 4. Wondering if I still need the booster -3rd dose? I recall a while back there were arguments being made that the natural immunity timeline was longer than the vaccine immunity for the same strain.
ofcourse if there is a new mutation that would require a booster but as it stands wondering if there are any data/paper out there to support that argument for/against a booster?

Immunity from vaccination & from infection will wane over time - it really isn't whether one is better than the other.

Vaccination produces a more consistent immune response as you recieve a standard dose of antigen - immunity from infection is far more variable. It's impossible to generalise from study data because you have no idea what kind of immune response you personally had from your infection.

Personally, if offered vaccination I would go for it ~3 months after infection. I've had zilch side effects from previous three, so easy decision to make for me.
