Yesterday i tested pos for the 5th time.

First time was april 2020 and after that I developed long covid and have has issues with my lungs since. Felt unable to take a full deep breath, out of breath quickly etc. I spoke to gp and was given inhalers but thats all really. I was really poorly tho. Had 6 weeks off work and still wasnt back to normal when i returned.

Ive tested pos 3 times since will very little symptoms

This time though, ive never felt so poorly, my whole body aches, eyes burning and watery, chest is on fire every time i cough, which is basically all the time, feels like its going to explode, my temp is so high, early hours of the morning my temp was so high i was in full rigor and had to wake one of my children to get me a drink and paracetamol i was shaking so uncontrollably, i cant sleep im lucky if i get 2 hours at a time. Im really really struggling and im a single parent with kids at home as they testing positive too tho no symptoms.

My question really is i have paracetamol ibuprofen benilyn and throat lozenges. Is there anything i can do to help relieve these symptoms

Ring 999 if it’s that bad - GPs can’t do much, but if you’re feeling so poor it’s unmanageable it’s definitely an ambulance job.

@mattyprice4004

Ita really not a hospital job. I call 999 get an ambulance sit in that at a+e for 6 hours till finally get transferred to a corridor where i wait 8 hours for paracetamol if im lucky, leaving my kids home alone as i have no family support? No.

It's manageable at home however the pain is keeping me awake. I explained to gp the the pain is muscular mostly from coughing. I could have been given a stronger painkiller for muscular pain, such as naproxen or diclofenac or tramadol. I could have been given a different inhaler or steroids or something to try and open my lungs. If they think nebs would help they are something that could be provided for a much lower cost than me taking up a hospital bed and requiring social support for my kids

Can you ask them to prescribe you something stronger (or did they refuse)
