I’ve just had a positive Covid test (antigen). However, the line is realllllly faint: I only saw it when the test strip was fully dry, maybe 20-30 minutes after the test.
Lots of people I know who have had Covid recently, said they’ve had very fast onset of symptoms. I can’t say I’ve had many, thankfully: slight cough (that I had for 1-2 weeks before), and then this morning I was very tired and a bit ‘meh’.
The only reason I tested with that set of ‘symptoms’ was because a friend I spent the evening with on Thursday, tested positive on Friday and so I knew I’d been potentially exposed. However, given the speed of this apparent variant, is he the likely source if I only really started to feel it in the last day or so? I work in education and had 30+ students in front of me on Friday morning, and I also ate out on Saturday, indoors.
Where exactly I got it from isn’t important in itself though, but I’m wondering about it for trying to understand the possible future timeline: whether this faint positive is only the start, or am I at the end? Has anyone else had a faint positive then gone on to have a full-blown case? Or is most people’s experience that the faint line is towards the end? I had Covid in August, so I’m wondering if that’s preventing me from developing the full suite of symptoms (my friend said he felt like crap).
I appreciate no one can tell the future, but recent experiences of exposure/symptoms/testing timelines would be helpful! With the line this faint, I’m debating whether to rearrange my classes later in the week to online-only. I’ll retest tomorrow to see how things are.
