Timing of Autumn Booster

I have my booster booked for 1st week in november and now have Covid - first time, not too bad luckily.

I will obviously cancel booster but i’m thinking it makes sense to re book for Jan/Feb as antibodies from having the actual illness will be high for a while.

Does anyone know?

I know a person who had Covid booster 4 weeks ago and just got Covid yesterday. I thought she would have been ok for at least 12 weeks but seems not. She had Moderna. I am off for my booster in an hour.

Wow, that booster didn't offer much protection Shock! Do you know if it was the old or new the bivalent one?

I know 2 people with covid at the moment - both had boosters 2 weeks ago

I'm shocked at people getting covid so soon after booster.
I had to cancel my booster a couple of weeks ago as had covid. Was planning to leave it 3 months now.

I'm in the exact same boat. Was planning booster next week & just tested positive for first time ever. So annoying.

Thats like me, I had my 4th booster and then caught Covid 9 days later

MrsTerryPratchett · 21/10/2022 01:49

9 days later doesn't mean it didn't work. The incubation period is about 7 days so you could have got it before the antibodies kicked in. You could even have already had it.

I dunno, I had Covid last week so have t booked mine yet. The appointments are only a few weeks ahead.

is there any way of knowing which booster you are likely to get, would the larger drop in centres be most likely to have the bivalent one?

…wonders to myself
