Do I have Covid??

Nobody can actually answer that question, but I would appreciate some advice.

DH has just had covid and has finally started to test negative. This morning I had a positive test with a throat and nasal test, I have no symptoms at all. I did another to double check which came back negative. Later in the day I had another positive test. DH got some nasal only tests and that is negative.

I will test again first thing in the morning, but I’m wondering what other people’s experiences are. As it stands I have no idea if I have it or not, which is a bit tricky.

Why are you testing so much?

BattenburgDonkey · 19/10/2022 21:37

I agree, why so many tests? Sounds unnecessary really!

Suzi888 · 19/10/2022 21:39

You tested and the result was positive? I’d say you have covid.

Pebbleinthesand · 19/10/2022 21:44

Yes.

You did a test and it was positive. I'm a teacher and our local authority policy is that we have to stay off 5 days for a positive test. If I'd got a positive on one test I wouldn't be retesting and I'd be off work.

Good question. I just retested which I shouldn’t have done and as it was negative I was thrown. That was the reason I tested again. Definitely should have stopped there, but I was curious about the nasal only tests. Unnecessary definitely, but there you go…

Anyway as it stands I’ve had 2 negative and 2 positive tests.

Of course you have covid. You have had several positive tests.

I had no symptoms my first time and very mild the second.

Yeah I’d say you have it. You are far more likely to get false negatives than two false positives.
