What's the incubation period these days?

Exposed to what? Are you immune suppressed?

Akite · 16/10/2022 22:59

Well my DH tested positive last Monday and I've tested since then and managed to avoid it so far, so I'm hoping it's around 5 days and I'm in the clear (he's isolated away from us since testing).
Are you vaccinated?

MissVantaBlack · 16/10/2022 23:04

Did a friend/acquaintance inform you of this, or was it a text message from the "NHS"?. If the latter, be aware that it is probably a scam. Don't click on the link because it wants your bank details.

Johnnysgirl · 16/10/2022 23:06

If you're back to living your life as normal (and who isn't?) you're probably being exposed on a regular basis.
Calm down unless you're extremely vulnerable. But if you are, you'll be fully vaccinated anyway?
Why the panic?

silverclock222 · 16/10/2022 23:07

No symptoms then do what you want and go where you want. Symptoms isolate get pcr and stay isolated till negative.

TowerblocksAndSunflowers · 16/10/2022 23:07

If you mean Covid, you're probably being exposed every time you go anywhere. One in 35 people are supposed to have it right now.

It doesn't mean you'll catch it; I've had it twice, five months apart but am hoping that this will give me some element of protection on top of my vaccines. Having it twice in short succession has made me a lot more philosophical about it.

Potato28 · 16/10/2022 23:09

Most people are exposed every day

YukoandHiro · 16/10/2022 23:12

I'm not extremely vulnerable but in category 6 for the jabs. Had my booster recently so hoping it will protect me. More worried about husband who has bad asthma - but we've both had it before and we're ok.
I'm not feeling too anxious, just annoyed. I'm so busy the next couple of weeks incl supposed to be moving house so I really just don't have time for this shit.

You're exposed to it every time you meet a human, it's rife. There are no government guidelines to follow at the moment other than get vaccinated, wear a mask if you fancy and open your windows.

Donutface2 · 16/10/2022 23:39

I caught it for the first time at a concert and tested positive four days later (as did three friends). My husband and son have now caught it off me and it’s taken them five days to test positive after me. I have felt quite rough with it and had to cancel an important medical appointment so I understand you not wanting to go down with it. Hope you escape it. I’ve been exposed quite a lot in the past and never caught it and was beginning to think I was immune!

Tanktanktank · 17/10/2022 03:07

DH tested positive on a Monday (reckon he got it the previous Thursday). I then tested positive Wednesday. Took me 8 days to turn negative (booster was only three weeks old). I actually feel worse than I did when positive now.
