covid and shingles at the same time

I started with shingles 3 weeks ago, and although I am over the worst of it I am still having episodes of intense pain and discomfort where the rash was (one side of my stomach). It really knocked me off my feet and I was surprised how much it took out of me.

This evening, along with 2 of my children, I have tested positive for covid and feel horrendous. I'm exhausted but in too much pain to sleep. It's hit my chest straight away (this is the 2nd time I've had covid - the first time was 6 months ago when I developed a secondary lung infection). I have asthma which doesn't help.
Everything hurts! It feels like I can't even touch my skin.
I have a constant headache, high temperature and just feel rubbish in general.

The worst thing is the dizziness, and the feeling that my legs are about to give way as I'm so weak.

Has anyone else had these two viruses on top of each other?
I'm starting to panic about how bad it might get. My anxiety is through the roof and I feel so low and tearful.

I'm sorry you are feeling so bad and hope you feel better soon. I've had covid for the past week and that one it's own has been awful although I have asthma too and am on steroids and antibiotics for my chest. I've never had shingles but know it can be horrendous. I can't imagine both at once. Have you got decent pain relief like something with codeine in? Can the GP give you anything to help? I've found a hot water bottle invaluable for the aches I my back and hips along with my usual heavy duty painkillers, olbas oil, sinex, and being horizontal as much as possible. Rest as much as you can-the tv has been on constantly this week as da has covid too but isn't particularly unwell, just not able to go to school and his symptoms fluctuate.

P.s. I've also felt anxious and tearful. It seems to be part of covid. Over 2 years of being CEV and scared I'd get it and die (in the early days) have been met with the awful feeling it finally got me and I don't know if I'll be affected long term like my friend has been. It's a very anxiety inducing thing and shingles on top too is going to floor you Flowers
