Anyone else feel spaced out after covid?

I had it for the first time 3 weeks ago. Am fine now but just feel like tired and spaced out, almost a bit light headed. Feels so weird. I have to be on the ball at work and im just struggling to concentrate and get with it. I just want to sit and veg/nap...

Anyone else?

I logged on specifically to look at this! I am recovering at the moment and although symptoms are lessening, I am sleeping huge amounts of the day and have no 'get up and go'. I am immuno-compromised and taking anti-virals so wondered if that was a factor.

Not uncommon. Many are caught up in the 'it's taking me much longer to do x,y,z to ability I could before covid, but I am also much more tired'. Some feel better over time, so hope you're one of those - try to rest when you can.

Thank you for replying. I hope it passes.

Yes, I’m 4 weeks post Covid. Suffering sore throats, I’m also feeling a bit down and demotivated. I’m getting cross with myself now 😕

I was similar, OP. I tested positive for two weeks and felt wiped out for another couple of weeks after that. I did as little as possible, lots of napping, got Iceland deliveries, and it did get better gradually.

It reminded me of how I'd felt after having flu in 2019. That left me exhausted for around two months! However, I did far too much during that time, in comparison. I remember walking along the street and it becoming an endurance test - can I get to the next lamppost? I'll just stop and lean against this wall sort of thing.

There's been a lot more discussion about post viral fatigue and that helped me to slow the fuck down. I suggest you do the same. If there are short cuts you can take, take them. Delegate household chores to others. Nap when you feel the need. Most people do get over it. I certainly did and more quickly than flu. I like to think that taking it as easy as I could contributed to that. In any case it will make you feel better to conserve your energy.

It took me months to get fully better after covid (and sometimes I wonder if I am actually back to how I was before - I might still be below that, over 2 years later). My DP had 3 months off work after trying to go in a few times and falling asleep behind the wheel of his car (NOT while driving, while waiting for passengers to come out of church - he works in a funeral service) and his company said he can't come back until he can sit there for an hour without falling asleep.

I am glad to know it isn't me but it is sobering to hear these stories. I think I am going to go back to work part days to see how I am, if my HR is amenable.

I had Covid this time last year and my first half ok day was Christmas day! Just felt tired and weak with no energy. Usually walked a lot but couldn't get legs going. Had it again this June but recovered quickly enough.
Pharmacy recommended vitamins/ blueberries/ lots of water and to only do what l felt up to.
To be honest l don't know if l ever came completely back to myself since.

Yes definitely spacey! I wouldnt describe it as tired. Just had my second round of COVID but completely symptomless. I had to test for work and the result was a shock as i felt fine. Negative result as of Tuesday this week but today i definitely feel like my heads in the clouds.

Seems the best thing we can do is to try to rest as much as possible.

But its such a weird illness isnt it🤷‍♀️
