Tested positive…immunosuppressed&asthmatic fiance

I’ve tested positive this morning. Don’t feel too bad; mainly tired, sore throat and snotty nose. My fiancé is on immunosuppressants and has asthma (ironically asthma came from him having covid!). Last time he had it, he was so unwell. He was off work for a month and it took him about 6 months to fully recover.

I’m terrified of passing it onto him. I’m going to stay away as much as I can and have all windows etc open.

does anyone have any positive stories about people in similar circumstances? Either not catching it or fully recovering. I feel awful in case I pass it on even though I’ll have caught it from work as that’s the only place I’ve been 😫

I'm asthmatic, on immunosuppressants, and caught COVID in April. I was on holiday and tested positive after spending a week in a hotel with my husband and child. Neither of them caught it. Then we went to my parents' house, which was full of people visiting...and again, no one caught it (although by the that time I was isolating). I think it really depends on your viral load/shedding (nerd terms for how much virus is in your system...). If you're vaccinated, you're much less likely to pass it on... I'd just wear a mask and avoid him. By the way, I was prescribed monteklast (I think that's how you spell it) and am convinced it really stopped me getting very ill. I felt fine after a couple of weeks.

I’m fully vaccinated and so is he. Annoyingly, I’ve been saying he needs to book our autumn boosters as soon as we can to avoid this situation. Thank you for getting back to me that sounds like you came through it well. He has had a letter to say if he tests positive he will be given medication from the hospital so sounds similar to you. Did you feel unwell from it?

Oh yes! I had chills, fever, snotty nose and felt breathless and had a cough. But that only lasted a few days. I was convinced I had it and no one believed me. I was like 'TOLD YOU' when I tested positive 😂

I am immunosuppressed due to auto immune disease plus I have asthma and was ill with covid for 3 months last year, partly in hospital.
My DH has covid at the moment. He started last Friday but didn't test until Sunday🙄.
So far I am ok.
I don't know whether having such a severe illness gives extra protection. I've also had 5 vaccine doses (3 since covid). I was told I qualify for treatment but don't know whether I would actually get it.
We are mostly keeping apart but not wearing masks in the house like we did when I had it. I think that I feel less worried about it even though I was so ill last time.

My son's immunosuppressed partner caught Covid from him recently.

She was able to receive an infusion of the correct drugs 30 mins in a local hospital. She made many phone calls in order to organise this.

12 hours later she felt great. A few days later she was testing positive again. A couple of days after that she was fine.

Make sure he gets on with getting the correct anti virals if he catches it.
