3 weeks later - should I see the GP?

Triple jabbed and caught it just over 3 weeks ago. Cough, temperature, fatigue lasted a few days and had a negative LF 10 days after first symptoms.

But the coughing has come back about a week ago (ie about 2 weeks after onset) and my chest is starting to hurt from the coughing, and leaving me tired.

Wondering if this is pneumonia and if I should be seeing the GP?

Hi I went today and they said I have pneumonitis and it's v common with this strain - got antibiotics . Go sooner than later if you can I wish I had!

@JazzyBBG - called this morning and got a phone consultation. As it's a dry cough, no phlegm, no fever she doesn't think it's an infection requiring antibiotics. She thinks it's just a consequence of Covid and should probably watch it for a few weeks.

She'll see me face to face tomorrow just to rule out anything more serious.

Never heard of pneumonitis before - although 'itis' suggests inflammation which I thought are normally treated with steroids but I'm not a medic.

Was yours a dry cough?

That's good just keep an eye on it as I had dry cough until 2 weeks in then the phlegm started.

Will do. I've started to take some cough medicine to ease the harshness of the coughing. But boy do I feel tired!!
