Pretty sure I have covid. I've had a headache and sore eyes for 3 days, woken up with awful sore throat and everything aches.

I have no tests, do I need to get tested? Do I need to bother telling my GP?

I don't think you need to tell your GP. I didn't. Has anyone got a spare test/or can grab one for you?

LoveLimesoda · 23/07/2022 07:52

No tests at home unfortunately and everyone I know is busy today... typical it's the weekend!

You don’t need to test. That’s the official guidance. If unwell stay at home otherwise go about as you would with any illness

this has been widely publicised

it’s online if you go to nhs or gov website

Why covid and not something else?

VerifiedBot2351 · 23/07/2022 14:57

If you want to put your mind at ease by doing a test and knowing for certain, some places will deliver them, such as here

I’ve tested positive this morning, with the same symptoms as you describe. Whilst we don’t have to isolate any more, I will for a few days to avoid spreading the infection to others.

This happened to me yesterday - sent dd out to buy a test and I was positive. So isolating as much as possible now at home as dh is clinically vulnerable.

You've never needed to tell you GP. If you've got no tests and aren't eligible for them then you don't need to test.

LoveLimesoda · 23/07/2022 16:32

Just to update, a friend kindly posted some tests through my letterbox.

I have tested positive, (very clear line) so at least I know! To answer a PP who asked why it couldn't be something else - it's hard to describe but I just felt strongly it could be Covid.

I never get poorly, am in great health, and these symptoms were so out the blue and unusual for me.

Thanks for the advice, I've told work and they want me to stay home until I'm feeling better. Good to know I don't need to bother GP!

I hope you recover soon! This feels rougher than I imagined.

Again I hope you feel better soon, and that your DH is okay, what an extra worry for you.
