What's the situation for travelling abroad now?

Eg France. We are surrounded by it at work, school everywhere. Everyone seems to have it now. I'm really anxious because of a trip to France booked for this weekend. We aren't even supposed to be testing anymore, we've no tests left in the house. Unless one of us gets ill are we OK to go ahead and travel? As we have no tests and are well we can assume we can go ahead? Or do I need to buy some and double check before we go? Obviously if we were unwell it would be different. It just seems to be more rife than ever and half the people I know seem yo have it and I'm very nervous about it messing up this trip or getting stuck. Fully vaccinated BTW.

I think you still have to provide a negative test to enter France

BigSandyBalls2015 · 07/07/2022 13:41

If you’re booster was over 9 months ago

You just need proof of vaccination inc booster

Justkoko · 07/07/2022 13:46

Probably overthinking it. Not even ill! So fed up of worrying over restrictions though and getting it wrong.

There is no expiry date on the booster

dementedpixie · 07/07/2022 22:13

If you're fully vaccinated including booster then you don't need a test

Secrettoday · 07/07/2022 22:14

I’ve flown to France 4 times this year and not once been asked for any proof of vax!

Justkoko · 08/07/2022 02:19

Vax paperwork is all in place, I'm just well twitchy as it seems worse than ever !

3 of us ended up with covid on our holiday. Think ds was brewing it before we got here and passed it to me and dd. Dh OK so far

MsTSwift · 08/07/2022 06:59

Just flew to France. Printed off my vaccine proof from the website, No one checked it not once. They Not slightest bit interested

MsTSwift · 08/07/2022 07:00

My understanding from a medic is it’s now “endemic” you wouldn’t declare a cold etc.

Exactly this.

Currently in France. Came through the tunnel, no one asked for covid vaccination record. No mention of Covid.

Toured two major cities; no one in masks, no social distancing.

Scianel · 08/07/2022 08:19

OP if you're vaccinated and boosted you just go. Nothing further required.

Just back from a week in France. Went by ferry. Proof of vaccination was checked before we boarded and again at Passport Control in France.

No longer required to go into restaurants.

Nothing checked on the way back in.

Seems a bit hit and miss.

Currently in France....Toured two major cities; no one in masks, no social distancing.

Nice is about to re-introduce the mandatory wearing of masks on public transport.

POV from Southern France with a major city just up the road....

We're seeing some mask wearing returning on a voluntary basis (more people wearing them again in places like shops/supermarkets, especially the more elderly), no talk yet of a return to mandatory use locally other than on perhaps the local city metro/buses and no talk that I've heard of reintroduction of formal restrictions other than that.

Anyone coming on holiday might find it worth their while to bring a small stock of masks.
