DC came down with covid on 26/6 - high fever and cough for 48 hours then back to normal.

Since then he has been an absolute pain in the bum! Tantrums all the time over anything, says nothing hurts when we ask so it's not that.

He's starting to eat a bit more however is not keen on drinking anything at all it's a real real battle to get anything down him all day. E.g so far today he has had a cup of milk and 5 sips of water. Apart from the tantrums he is same as usual running around and playing, talking etc but I'm at the end of my tether with the drinking and tantrums and don't know if it's time to seek help?

Any advice or help please

I’m terms of hydration, I’ve lollies, yoghurts etc.

what are his nappies like?

Tiepose · 02/07/2022 10:45

*ice not I’ve

elephantmarchingin · 02/07/2022 10:47

@Tiepose won't touch a lolly. He is weeing a normal amount we think. We have been out and about so he's always a bit hit and miss but when he does go it's a 'normal' colour etc.

Hi, we had COVID in February and one of the symptoms we noticed from our 4 year old was tantrums, we also noticed that because my brain felt really foggy because of it I got quite snappy and almost tantrummy too.
We mentioned it to the doctor's who said that apparently it's very normal because your brain feels foggy.

The other thing we noticed is her taste buds keep changing, she now can't stand chicken or many other types of protein.
Our GP (our baby was only 3 weeks when we got it so we had GP advice) said to basically eat and drink whatever we felt like just to keep hydrated and fed.
We left her (4yo) lots of water bottles with different things in, water in one, dilute in another, she loved fresh orange and that's all we could get her to drink for a while.
I hope you're all ok.

That’s a good point on tastebuds.

DS (5yo) had Covid in March.

What has followed has been months of quite serious constipation (… and accompanying grumpiness).

hydration is the basic, though, even if you are occasionally syringing something in.

Wouldn’t hurt to get in touch with the GP. Mine do an e consult, so I can get all my info down in writing and then follow up with a phone call (from them).
