The way it spreads...

For backstory there are 8 of us in the house, DP got it in October, didn’t know he first had it as first pcr and lft was negative despite hAving the symptoms, literally no one else caught it... fast forward to feb when dbro and his gf got it, we also think dd caught it too but didn’t show up on 4 lfts , we weren’t going anywhere as it was half term and shit weather. No one else got symptoms, despite dbro freely moving around house. Fast forward to 2 weeks ago, dsis works with me, we work with a couple who both caught it week before last. Dsis caught it off the person who I spend more time with as other was off sick. So dsis has given it to my mum, and now I have it, ( now testing negative) well I think I’ve had it since Thursday as felt achy but put it down to extra hours at work as tested negative then.
now the bit that gets me, dd, DS and DP have not yet showed any symptoms, they all spend more time with Dsis and we’re just before she tested positive...
im totally amazed at how it spreads. Anyone else had similar situations at home?

It’s bizarre how it spreads that’s for sure. I sometimes wonder if once you’ve had it (with or without symptoms) it just lays dormant until you’re in contact with someone else that has a compatible variant that triggers it again or some other ridiculous explanation even though it’s likely down to viral load. Really though, at this point nothing would shock me.

It’s totally wierd. My DS got it in January, DH in February and me in March. All in the same house and no attempts to avoid one another. We either all caught it from separate sources or the incubation period was way more than they said

It's very odd. I know a family of 4 and they've all had it multiple times each but all at separate times and they didn't isolate within the house at all. We didn't get it from ds when he had it but he did a good job of keeping himself to himself. I was speaking to a friend the other day and she'd done an hours cat journey with a friend who was positive and she didn't get it. The whole thing is weird!

Also it’s down to being the right time to get a positive result, I’ve read with the new variants some people are only testing positive for one day only.

Maybe it’s to do with super spreaders? So the people we catch it off are super spreaders then you don’t pass it round your family. They go off and encounter a super spreader and get it separately.

We’d all managed to avoid it from DS2 no isolation. Both DH and I caught it at a super spreader party where everybody who had avoided catching it from their kids caught it!

Then we didn’t pass it on to DS1..

That’s my current theory as to why it doesn’t spread though households as much as you would think. Some people maybe ‘non-spreaders’ hmmm.
