Covid twice in 2 months?!

I caught covid around Easter time and was given antivirals due to my immunosuppressant treatment. Had negative LFT’s after about 7 days. This week I have been feeling really grotty and have tested positive again 2 months to the day.

I’ve spoken to the NHS and everyone is completely baffled about how I’ve got it again within 90 days, whether I need another course of antivirals, whether it’s new infection, reactivation of infection or what.

I know it was quite common to get Delta -> Omicron quite close together but I imagine this is Omicron -> Omicron given the timings and the fact the symptoms are the same.

Currently waiting for the consultants and the pharmacists to decide what to do with me but is it really common to get covid twice quite close together these days or has my immune system just finally given up on me?!

Yup!! Had it towards the end of March and then again at the end of April, was not to bad in March and FLOORED in April!

DS had it in February and again four weeks later in March. I presume omicron ba.1 followed by ba.2. He was unvaccinated though.
you’ve probably had ba.2 followed by ba.4/5. The problem is these new omicron variants keep popping up and they are sufficiently different to each other to mean if your immunity is low (presumably it is if you are on immunosuppressants) that you can catch each one.
I’d treat as a new infection.
hope you feel better soon

Thanks! I didn’t realise there were so many omicron variants! So much for at least a 90 day reprieve 😂

They’re decided to start me on some more antivirals anyway which should come later today. Fingers crossed they kick in soon because I feel rough 🤦🏻‍♀️
