What kind of advice are you seeking?

mudgetastic · 28/05/2022 10:53

Long covid covers lots of different things , from a tiredness that goes on for a few weeks to serious damage of internal organs , perhaps you can be more specific

I've had long covid for 2 years, eventually return to work. I was doing amazing but now off sick again.
Suffering with Fatigue, joint pain headaches, on an steroid inhaler due to breathlessness, the sickness has now eased it's pregnancy related sickness.
Basically the advice I am after is how do you cope with long covid and pregnancy?

Hi Starrr123, I'm doing much better thanks. Not by any means 100% though. It's difficult to know when I'm tired of it's covid/pregnancy related.
My mobility has improved but I can't be on my feet for 12-13 hours, therefore work have had to find me an admin job to do, which is great as it has kept me busy.
Are you put off having another baby due to long covid or did you have a bad experience in pregnancy? I'm pleased to hear that you have improved, some people don't understand what it's like to have long covid never mind pregnant with long covid! Do you have any advise on how I can keep going without having any set backs.

@Sunbeam32 Im ad your better :) and not on your feet which helps :)

the advice i can give is when the baby comes, take as much help as you can!
I honestly didnt mnow it would hit me worse the being pregnant! I had a horrible labour so it took it out of me! Was in alot of pain, soo fatigued etc! I had awful dizzyness! Drink lots of water! And if you dont feel right after giving birth then tell them because thats the time sometbing will be sorted xxx when are you due ?

Sunbeam32 · 22/08/2022 20:30

Did you not have an epidural? I'm due on the 8th November. Dreading the labour, people who I've spoke too have all given me the advice to breath, walk around a lot, and listen to your midwife. Thankfully I have a big family who are all willing to help me. Also grateful I won't be giving birth in the summer months!

i did have it! Because the pain was ridic! I was in labour for 36hrs! I just couldnt go on anymore. Within mins my pain went! I didnt do a top up so i was able to feel when i had to push etc. But i do think that prob didnt help me
feel good.
i am so unsure whether to have another. My girl was born in june xx @Sunbeam32 xx

Wow no wonder you were exhausted. Being in pain alone makes you feel tired, but having long covid and being in labour isn't a brilliant combination, however the end result must of been amazing for you. I'm undecided what I want regarding pain relief.
It's good to hear someone else has long covid and experienced pregnancy.
