My DH and I have eventually got over covid. But now we both feel nauseous and really tired (a bit like our covid symptoms). But we both tested negative this morning.
Is there a bug going round, could it be covid again?
Really, really fed up.

some colleagues are on their 2nd & 3rd round of covid, a couple of them only had it at Christmas, then got it again last month, so it’s definitely possible.

Neverreturntoathread · 09/05/2022 15:41

If it’s within 3 months, doctors don’t even call it ‘long covid’ it’s just still covid after effects.

DC have had daily nausea since they had covid 2 months ago ☹️

The tests can’t pick up after effects or very small amounts of the virus.

I came here to say covid after effects. We got it in April and been over it for 2 weeks or so but still wake up with a sore throat/mild cough most days, and 11yo DD is the same. It's taking ages to shift the leftovers from this one. Which is weird because this one is supposed to be milder, yet when we had original strain of covid way back during November 2020 it came and went within the week 🤷🏻‍♀️

Flopisfatteningbingforchristmas · 09/05/2022 16:01

There have been recorded cases of people catching covid 21 days after the initial infection. But that has been different strains.

Gingernaut · 09/05/2022 16:08

I've been floored for the past three weeks with an adenovirus.

Nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, heavy cold symptoms, barking and exhausting cough and conjunctivitis.

I have tested negative for Covid all through the three weeks.

JanglyBeads · 09/05/2022 21:26

You haven't actually said how long it is since you both tested positive, OP?

I’m the same, had COVID mid April and I felt better for about a week and now have cold symptoms and a cough again!

I'm testing negative. I don’t feel as unwell as I did with COVID but it feels a bit relentless and I’m fed up of working feeling under par.

FabulousKilljoys · 09/05/2022 21:47

@DontKeepTheFaith yep same, just fed up of feeling so blah and each time I think it's buggered off some symptom or other crops up again. The kids are pretty fed up of being so run down too. I'm really hoping some long awaited sunshine will perk us up properly.

Another one with post covid symptoms here.. only 4 more weeks then I can get a referral to the long covid clinic.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 11/05/2022 18:00

I had Covid mid March, and was really unwell. A fortnight ago I woke up with a super sore throat, sweaty but shivery, and tested positive again. The test and trace person said it counted as a new infection because it was 28 days since the first positive test. She also said it sounded like initially I had delta (based on symptoms) then omicron second time out.

My DP tested positive on Friday past and interestingly I tested positive again today. That must just be residual infection though.

So beyond fed up now.

Many people are being reinfected but of course it could be your average non covid virus too. How long ago did you have covid ? Could it be lingering affects from the virus, I was exhausted for weeks afterwards and had sinus issues for 5 months after the virus!

To add to my pp my own Dd had it twice within a couple months.

Muddlebubble · 12/05/2022 21:52

My daughter caught covid in December, then as soon went back to school after xmas didn't feel well tested her again covid, then got it for the 3rd time in feb.
She ended up with shingles not long after as she must of been drained.
But other than a bit of a temp and snot each time she was fine but now has 'covid girl as a nick name'
