Is it likely to be?

Had it at the start of February.

@worriedatthistime can I ask what your symptoms were the second time around?

Could well be.

We had it at the end of Jan/ early feb and have it again now - same with my BIL/SIL and their small children - exactly same timeline.

Symptoms this time are slightly less severe but headache, fatigue and viral symptoms of snotty nose, throat tickle came back.

Husband has brain fog again too.

It’s a pain in the arse!

Hope you feel better soon. It's v possible unfortunately and depressing! Don't rule out other illnesses though obviously.

TheSnowyOwl · 19/04/2022 13:42

I’ve already had it twice this year.

Finallygotme · 19/04/2022 13:45

I had it beginning of Feb and have been absolutely floored with something this past week. I think its covid, possibly a reactivation of the Feb one as I have the same weird cough, rattling lungs that I had with covid. I've had loads of colds etc over the years and this cough is very distinctive so I think it's covid. I feel worse this time and struggling to breathe.

Dizzywizz · 19/04/2022 13:47

Oh god really? I thought you couldn’t have it again within 6 months, did I make that up?

Sadly so. I know we used to be told not to test within 90 days as it would pick up an old positive but omicron seems to have changed the goal posts and evades immunity.

I know very few local friends who have children in primary schools who haven’t had it twice since the academic year began in September.

JS87 · 19/04/2022 13:59

My son had it in February and again in March. Both variants of omicron I think ba.1 and ba.2 so it is possible.

Whatevernext1 · 19/04/2022 14:01

My friend had it at the end of January/beginning of February and then she had it again at the beginning of March.

AntarcticTern · 19/04/2022 14:03

I know two people who had it again 6-7 weeks later!

BreakinbadBreakineven · 19/04/2022 14:16

I had it, tested negative after about 9 days then not 2 weeks later felt utterly appalling like before, tested and was positive again. No idea if it was remnants of the original infection but I felt even worse than the first time.

unim · 19/04/2022 14:20

@TheSnowyOwl That is PCR tests because they are so sensitive. But the LFTs are not - they are the ones that were being used to release people from isolation after 5/6 days if negative. So if an LFT were positive it would definitely be a new infection if that makes sense.

TulipsGarden · 19/04/2022 14:24

My son's just had it again, 11 weeks after the last time. BA1 and BA2, I assume. It seems pretty common in children, and increasingly so in their parents.

Florin · 19/04/2022 14:24

We all had it again 2.5 months after the first time.

Its just that our understanding has moved on. I was one of the first people to be a confirmed case of reinfection in 2020. The hospital was very excited and it was then thought to be a very rare occurrence. Turns out its not really rare at all esp if you are one of the 1 in 5 people who don't make lasting antibodies.
