7month old covid positive - advice please

My 7mo has been ill since Tuesday. Raised temp (37.7) tues night / wed morning which went down with calpol. Last night she felt colder than normal and her temp was 34.8. We phoned 111 at 1am who put us through to GP out of hours. He suggested a covid test and that a dr would be in touch. This was 7am. Twelve hours later we still haven’t heard anything and actually haven’t had any advice about her low temp which was my main concern. She’s been 35.5 most of today and 36.0 before bed. I’m worried it will drop again tonight and feel I have been left to deal with it myself.
She’s fairly well in herself considering; drinking milk fine, eating food, wet and dirty nappies, smiling - just a bit grizzly now and again. Both 111 and the gp I spoke to this morning didn’t say anything about the low temp specifically so do I need to worry?
I know services are so busy and stretched but I feel forgotten about. Do I call them back even though her temp is fine now?
My partner thinks we should phone 111 if her temp goes below 35 again.

Advice please.

Any if anyone else’s little one tested positive, how long did they stay positive for?

Thank you in advance!

DS 5months was positive for about 6 days, but was poorly for 5 days before/couple days after

111 can take a long time to get back, especially weekends, I'd say if temp drops again call back, think there's an option if ongoing problem you are calling for

I found the gp wasn't concerned about DS having covid, just said babies bounce back quick 🙄
If she's eating/drinking lots of nappies they might not be too concerned, hope she gets better soon!

Thanks @stawberry0909 That’s very reassuring.

A dr finally phoned at 9pm and said very similar to you. The fact she’s eating/drinking/urinating pretty much as normal is a good sign. Hoping we’re over the worst. Quite glad it’s a bank holiday weekend so we can all hunker down and rest.

I don’t think any babies have died of Covid (unless really unwell with co morbidities). Your baby will be fine. Please free up 111 for those in need

@Sponge19

Yes exactly why I was reluctant to call back. I’m glad I didn’t call back & waited it out for gp to phone back. I can only imagine how stretched they are currently. We only tested her after our initial 111 call based on their advice. Our initial call was concern of her temperature being below 35.

Do call 111 if you have any concerns. That's what it's there for and they will say you did the right thing. You're not a Dr so if you're concerned call rather than worrying about whether you should and perhaps not calling when you should have. But it sounds like everything is better now anyway. I wish your baby a speedy recovery.

@GLTM
Thank you! My partner & I had agreed to call back if her temp dropped again but as it raised to normal throughout the day & she was acting well we waited it out. Here’s hoping she’s back to her normal self soon.
